I'm thinking of giving this a go.
Has anyone been in the dress boxes? Are they any good?

I'm thinking of giving this a go. Has anyone been in the dress boxes? Are they any good? Think you'd only miss the extreme sides. I'd go for the boxes on the right as you look at the stage, this way you'll see the 'kitchen' part of the set and just miss where the band come on and off sometimes. If you sit in the boxes on the left whilst looking at the stage you'll get a clear view of the band, but nothing else happens here. As opposed to a few bits and bobs taking place in the kitchen.

Kelly Agbowu on as Becky today. Ahhh thanks, I’m going this evening. Will report back! 👍 Got a row L stalls seat on today tix for £25 🙌 Btw I’ve noticed that they sell out pretty quickly now on today tix and don’t release anymore after the initial lot at 10pm, so if anyone’s wanting to do it, then be ready at 10am or you might miss out 👍

Fun show this evening! I had row L stalls on the far left but could see everything - really good seat, especially considering I got it through the today tix rush 👍 When i’ve been in the stalls previously I’ve been closer to the stage but I really liked being a little further back and being able to take in the whole stage setting. Gave it a nice perspective.
Kelly Agbowu was on for Becky and I thought she was really good! She didn’t give it the full-on sass that Marisha does which took a bit of getting used to, and I don’t think her Becky was quite as humorous as the way Marisha plays her, but she definitely held her own with Kat and Laura, and her voice is really strong! Her “I Didn’t Plan It” was v impressive!
They had a few minor technical issues in Act 1 with Kat’s microphone which kept cutting out, but it was fine for Act 2. Her SUTBM was incredible this evening!
One thing I’ve really noticed is that Kat and David have really ramped up the humour in Bad Idea and Bad Idea reprise, lol, and maybe it’s because it’s Kat’s last few weeks but it feels like David is intentionally trying to make Kat break, which she nearly did a few times tonight but pulled it back from the brink admirably! 😆
The stalls seemed pretty full with just a few empty seats dotted around. Not sure about the dress and upper circle as I couldn’t see them. Also stagedoor queue was super long this evening. Probably about 100 people lined up from what I could tell. David didn’t stagedoor but Kat and Kelly did. Didn’t see Laura but may have missed her. Also the little Lulu was high-fiving people in the queue as she walked past, so cute 😅❤️
Also Jack McBrayer literally gets laughs as soon as he’s rolled onto the stage! I’m actually surprised the Waitress advertising hasn’t used or promoted him more because a lot of the audience seems to know who he is, or at least recognise him. 🤷🏻♀️

Ahhh so Jack is leaving on the 15th too - all change at the diner! Go Neil from the Inbetweeners! 😆 No idea if he can sing but that didn’t stop Jack lol! He reminds me of a British Adam Shapiro, so hopefully his Ogie is as good too!

I think that could actually be a very good piece of casting, in every sense of the word and need of the show.

They should stunt cast that nurse who keeps popping up at the doctors office. Maybe get a drag queen to do it. Really sass it up. #bumsonseats

Now I won't lie I'm not against this stunt casting at all.
Finally, the casting directors have got someone which will attract people to the Adelphi! He's a great comedy actor and should be able to pull this off well, just the singing again; but surely he can't be worse that JMB?!
A few of my mates who go to the theatre once or twice a year messaged if I fancied seeing this with him in, so it's working. Just needs to be rolled out on the TV circuit well and it could help this show heaps!

It’s not like Blake Harrison is a particularly well known name to the public, and I’m not sure if they’ll advertise him as ‘Neil from The Inbetweeners’! But in terms of the role itself I think he could make a really good Ogie 👍

He's definitely a million times more well known in this country than Jack McBrayer! I think you'd be hard pushed to find a millennial (which I would say is one of the primary target audiences for this show) that doesn't recognise Blake's face, which will inevitably be on posters all over the place.

From one crush to another at least this softens the blow about Laura.

I'm a millenial & I've never heard of him before in my life nor had a clue who he was when pics of him popped up on my Twitter timeline earlier so it's not that hard to find one!

I'd never heard of Jack McBrayer or Blake Harrison (not that I'm a millennial!), so obviously never watched either of their programmes. Not that it matters, as I'm probably not the target audience for Waitress.

OK so my last comment was from anecdotal evidence from my experience going through university when The Inbetweeners was on TV. You couldn't go a day without hearing some kind of reference to it (FWIEND!), and I've got a photo somewhere of me with Simon and Carli from the show when they did an appearance at one of our local student bars. The Inbetweeners movie alone set records for having the most successful opening weekend of any comedy movie in the UK. I think if they have to go down the stunt casting route, this one is pretty sensible.

I just don't think of you say "Blake Harrison" to the average person they will necessarily know who he is! I mean I love the Inbetweeners too but only realised it was Neil from the show because the advertising told me. But sure he's definitely recognisable to lots of people so hopefully will give an additional boost to the show. I can see him appearing on chat shows to promote rather than being used in posters etc, which they never really do with the Ogie. I also don't really see this as "stunt casting" ... he's done theatre before and is an actor and is well suited for the role I think.

Seems Marisha was off again last night - not sure if she's sick or it's another reason but hope all is good 👍 She's been quiet on social media last couple days which is unlike her.

Has there been an update on a cast recording? Doesn’t look like it’s happening, at least not at the moment 🙁 ... Marisha, Kat and co mentioned it at the Yamaha Q&A and said they’d been pushing for it but nothing as of yet. I think Kat has recorded a full version of ‘She Used To Be Mine’ though 👍 She mentioned it in a radio interview a while back so I assume it’s gonna be released soon, as she’s only got 2 more weeks left?!

I just don't think of you say "Blake Harrison" to the average person they will necessarily know who he is! I don't think there is likely to be many cases where they will be advertising his casting without an accompanying picture or text of some kind. The announcements I've seen so far on social media are all accompanied by a huge photo of his face and 'Neil from the Inbetweeners'. And isn't this the true definition of stunt casting? He is surely only being cast because of his fame to sell tickets, not necessarily because he is the best person technically for that role. A relatively major role in a West End show you'd expect the person cast to have a proven track record of performing on stage, and in this case singing too. I don't think Blake has either of those? But anyway, I can see him bringing in the punters and doing it just as well as Jack did, and will probably try and catch him in it at some point.
