Have a thank you.
I will be abroad, but with a little luck will know where the two Mrs. Snow's are.

I rather enjoyed this tonight, apart from Ed Balls, who was souless and mentioned Gangnam Style at least 3 times...
The BBC Concert Orchestra with Michael Xavier, Rachel Tucker, Sophie Louise Dan, Ria Jones, Danny Mac, Moya Angela, the cast of Matilda, and the current Aladdin.
Looking at the performers, it was mostly obvious what they would sing. Danny and Ria did Sunset, Rachel did Wicked, Moya did And I am... Matilda did when I grow up. Michael did Bring Him Home, Sophie did Ideal World from Made in Dagenham. Proud of your Boy from Aladdin and some great overtures and musical suites from Gypsy, JCS, Sweet Charity and My Fair Lady. Danny also did Luck Be A Lady. They ended with all main performers doing a Sound of Music medley. Only 1 Sondheim, apparently Ed Balls isn't much of a fan, but Rachel did Bring Alive.
For a free night out, it was very good!
No idea when it is being broadcast though.

I know Ed Balls isn't everyone's cup of tea but he clearly loves his musicals, and this programme featuring his choices is worth a listen for musicals fans. It's on the Friday Night is Music Night page on the BBC website. Performances from Danny Mac and Ria Jones (Sunset Boulevard ), Rachel Tucker (singing Defying Gravity then an interval interview about Come from Away), Sophie Louise Dann (including Ideal World from Made in Dagenham) and others, with the BBC concert orchestra.
Edit- I didn't find the original thread so some of my comments overlap with the post above. Nice bit of background music for a couple of hours, anyway!

Thanks for mentioning this again lou105 - I missed it when it was broadcast. It's available on BBC Sounds or through the usual channels until 23 Dec.

And lovely versions of ‘Bring him Home’ and ‘Sunset Boulevard’ - not by Ed Balls I hasten to add 😀
