New play by actress Abigail Hood (who also acts in this) on the unlikely relationship which develops between Tom (Adam Morris) a grief-stricken man whose daughter has been missing for several months and Leah (Abigail Hood) a non-sexual escort he uses to keep the idea of his daughter alive. But however well-meaning, Tom's actions lead to complications as this compounds with the grief to threaten his marriage with Gill (Tracey Wilkinson).
Matters are further complicated by Leah's involvement with an abusive proto-pimp Mark (Kevin Tomlinson, who also directs) and all the characters, except for the thuggishly domineering Mark, are faced with consequences.
Spiral is an interesting and entertaining piece which deals thoughtfully with grief and humanity. Well done Abigail Hood.
