I enjoyed it alot, mainly because of Alexandra. But I can't see it doing London. Where would it evem go?! With the amount of demand for theatres at the moment, it has no place to really fit!

There's no many rumoured shows that would fit better than this one and I'm not sure what theatre would fit it best! I think this show would do better on tour anyway! Also agree, Alexandra was 100% best thing about the show, for me!

Thanks. I have heard the show isn't very good. Not worth buying a ticket.
I see the venues are selling out though, so may go.

I have heard the show isn't very good. The show itself is, it's this production that's bad. Very.

Personally, I loved the production but it's all subjective.
There's been a noticeable divide on the board between people who experienced previous productions and those who hadn't. For me, it was very much the star turn for Alexandra, and I'd happily pay to see it again. No point in rehashing things, but I liked the actor musician element- it showcased how talented the cast is, and it was a novelty, for me at least. I can see why it might not be to everyone's taste.
Alexandra, Craig RH and Jamie Wilson have all mentioned a desire to bring it to London so I think it is happening. Alexandra mentioned that if it happens, she doesn't know if it will be with her or someone else as Deloris, though.

I can't see Alexandra transferring with it, especially if it were to be an open ended run. She could get other jobs and might not want to play the same role after doing it on tour for a year, agree she was the best thing about it. I thought the production itself was good but I wasn't a lover of the book if I'm honest. The actor musician was better than I anticipated but I still have always preferred the traditional orchestra pit in front of the stage.

P.S. If it does go the West End, I'd like to see the staging rejigged a little. The simple staging mightn't work as well as on tour as people often expect very elaborate staging in the West End.
A few more sisters added to the ensemble would be good, too.

So I saw this in Sheffield last night. Really for me a show of two halves. The plusses- Alexandra Burke was very good overall, and in Karen Mann it was great to have a Mother Superior who could sing and act the part. I really enjoyed the whole ensemble of nuns.
But the first half - I nearly could have left at the interval. Dialogue that was so rushed that it was impossible to hear, same with song lyrics- it was my first time of hearing "it was good to be a nun" and I think I made out about a quarter of the lyrics. Curtis was about as threatening as a packet of Angel Delight and his three henchman had supposedly funny lines which were met with tumbleweed each time which wasn't surprising given the lameness of the delivery and the quality of the lines themselves. I got to the interval wishing I hadn't bothered and that I should have left my memories of the palladium production intact. Raise Your Voice and the Act one finale was where things started to pick up, but I was very disappointed overall. It also didn't help that the programme hasn't been updated with the new cast members, and the quality of the printing on some of the pages was appalling.
So it came as quite a surprise that act two was thoroughly enjoyable! I think it was a lot calmer, each song and performance had time to breathe and the pace slowed a little. Despite my reservations of the three villains, "Lady In The Long Black Dress" was great, as was "Bless Our Show" , and the big finish of "Spread The Love" worked really well. There was some excellent work from some of the nuns who you could see staying in character even through the dance routines. So although in my opinion it didn't even come close to the Palladium Production (Which I saw twice) I left feeling that overall I had had a good time.
I don't feel that the actor / musician aspect added anything though. Although it saves money in having to hire actors and a band. The cast were clearly very talented to be able to do this but ultimately I am not sure this is the right show for this kind of treatment.

Hi.
I am going to see this tonight, apparently Alexandra Burke is off injured, which is funny because on snapchat at the weekend, she was playing in a child's adventure playzone. swinging on ropes, up and down slides etc?
Has anyone seen the understudy? Reviews look good for Nottingham.

So went to see, sister act yesterday, was a bit disappointed to be honest. After seeing this on tour, once before, something was missing . I disagree with the reviews, It just looks like a cheap production. My program wasn't even up to date?

I think most of the people I can think of to play Deloris who would make me want to go and see this are either cast in Hamilton or working in the US!

I imagine the West End run was already written into Alexandra's contract for her to be first choice.

The nuns are playing the instruments! Does this happen at the moment?

The nuns are playing the instruments! Does this happen at the moment? Yep. At least if it's coming to London I don't need to find the tour venue nearest to me. The tour's going on for a while yet, so surely it'll be late 2017, early 2018?!

I tell you what I like about the actor-musician gimmick for this particular production - the scaled-down instrumentation actually makes the score sound like popular music of the time, which feels very appropriate to the piece, rather than a fully orchestrated piece of musical theatre. It's maybe not *neatly* done, but it's not done thoughtlessly. I also like how the nuns move from folk instruments to funk instruments as they get more into the music.

To be honest, it sounds silly, but I didn't even really notice the aftors playing the instruments. It felt natural when I saw it.

Maybe they will get a whole new cast for the west end run. Tour ends in September 2017, Alexandra Burke isn't doing the last date. Wonder why?
