Well after all Lizzie is joining the London Cast from March.
So happy for her as she started in the London then went out on tour then back to London.
So my plan for this year is seeing it in Manchester in March then the next day in London.
would be good if they could extend the London run but they would have to move to another theatre as the Elton john musical is moving in a couple of weeks after Sister act ends.

I haven't seen Sister Act since the original previews at the Palladium and I haven't really kept up with all the tours since. If I go to see the new production in the West End is it likely to be comparable in terms of production values, or is it a more basic touring set etc?

You should treat yourself as it is a whole new (and much improved) show since it's Palladium premiere. This version is in many ways identical to the Broadway version (which bore only scant similarity to that Palladium production) and set-wise, will likely be similar to the one used for the Hammersmith Eventim Apollo a couple of years back. And Beverly really brings it. She is a very good actress who sings the daylights out of the score. |

Thanks, I do have fond memories of that original production (with Patina Miller) so I've always been hesitant to see anything that might be sub-par, but it sounds like this is decent and I am impressed by the cast they have gathered. |

Don't like many of the changes to the score (Haven't Got A Prayer might be fine when there's a person doing it who can sing though) and I miss How I Got The Calling (It's Good To Be A Nun just isn't as good)
Bev absolutely sings the living heck out of the score though, so I'll definitely be going again (and hoping that there's a bit more set this time, as there was a LOT of stage masking at the Apollo, which for 7 weeks I guess is fine, but for 6 months I'd hope Jamie Wilson might chuck a bit of cash at it...)

Yes I've thought the same since the first ever UK Tour which (I think) is where it first appeared in the UK. I don't think it was ever slipped in for London - was it added in for Broadway? |

Saw the show last night in Dublin! Third time seeing this production and I think it’s probably five stars for me. Landi Oshinowo was fantastic as Deloris and Ruth Jones was brilliant as Mother Superior. I was actually quite surprised with her singing and thought she had a lovely voice. Her rendition of Here Within These Walls was really good and thought her rendition of I Haven’t Got a Prayer was hilarious. The rest of the cast was great too and the standing ovation at the end was much deserved.

I actually thought it was quite funny (though I always laugh when they do those type of videos because I can just imagine members of the public walking about their day and randomly seeing a bunch of nuns out in the street). Also has anyone seen Sue Cleaver as Mother Superior yet? I’m seeing it in Belfast (for the fourth time) but I’m eager to hear what people think she’s like. The reviews in Manchester are quite positive about her. |

we went to Manchester on Wednesday for the afternoon show and it was almost sold out.
Cast fab as normal and Sue Cleaver was on top form and can sing as well which shocked me and of course being from Manchester she got big claps at the end.
Not sure if it was because a lot of the cast are new but they did not seem to gel as much as in other shows on the tour and seem to want to get off stage as fast as possible right at the end but maybe that was because they had 2 shows that day.
we got a photo with Alfie Parker who plays Eddie at the stage door after and wow he got out fast as by the time we got out he was already at the stage door so he was not hanging around but a lovely chap.

I thought Sue Cleaver was brilliant as Mother Superior. But I was really surprised with her singing. She did tend to sing speak most of her lines but thought she had a lovely voice when she was probably singing. I’ll be interested to see Wendi Peters in the role but I know she will probably be brilliant. |

Would like to see this next week in Birmingham. There are 9 shows scheduled for the week (is that normal for the tour or is the extra show just in Birmingham?)
I would imagine Landi will not do all 9 shows. Does anyone know which show or shows she will not perform? I’d like to catch her performance if I can.

Just out of interest has anyone seen, or is going to see, Wendi Peters as Mother Superior? She has been getting good reviews but haven’t heard anything from an audience perspective. Although I know she’ll probably be good because she always is in anything she does.
