I just had a look at my local theatre’s website (Mayflower Southampton) and their dates have moved from September 2021 to May 2023! Madness!!

I was really looking forward to seeing whoopi in this as I’ve booked it just to see her gutted. And also the Cardiff run has been moved to next year and Jennifer Saunders name has been taken off the website so does this mean she’s not in it as well www.wmc.org.uk/en/whats-on/2022/sister-act

I guess as the show has been postponed, customers have a right to ask for a refund. If it just simply Whoopi pulling out, then the customer would have no rights to a refund.
So cancel your £250 tickets and just go for £25 tickets on TodayTix next year.
I wonder if Hairspray will now follow suit.
All very depressing.

I've just noticed that Sheffield Theatres announced the tour had been rescheduled on 8 February. I could have had a TB scoop!

I think it’s terrible for them to keep 360 pounds from my group when they didn’t send any tickets. No postage paid.
If they keep 9 pounds from every ticket at 3000 seats that’s 27,000 times seven shows and that’s almost 189,000 a week on fees!

Mater got a call from Sheffield Theatres this morning with her new date - 6 April 2023. At her time of life it's nice to have something to look forward to!

Funnily enough there is some great availability for this now. I’ve moved my £30 ish ticket from Row x of the circle to row f of the stalls (at the side). I’ve had to rebook and request a refund so will lose the fees but seems a no brainier as I still want to go.

Any news on casting for this? From what I can see on the website, Brenda Edwards is no longer listed for the tour?

She's out on tour with Hairspray at the moment so I imagine it was all quite up in the air. Maybe she'll hope across

When Whoopi pulled put you WERE entitled to a refund as it was sold on her name. I got a refund. I've seen Sister Act many times already and she was the only reason I booked to go again.

Dublin tour dates moved from May to September 2022. Hopefully we will get some more dates soon and a cast announcement. It seems the whole tour has been pushed back to the end of 2022.

Imagine they'll kick off with the Apollo London dates and then go into the tour

I just don't understand how it will sell without Whoopi in it? She will have to come back, surely!

Doesn’t appear to be sat down at the Apollo for as long any more?

Still no word on who’s going to replace Whoopi? It’s all been very quiet on the Sister Act front for months now.

I'm poised to request a refund when casting announced. The original pricing (more than) reflected the star name.

My dream casting for London would potentially be Mary J Blige or Queen Latifah as Deloris and Snoop Dogg or Harvey Keitel as Curtis Shank Jnr

Just had a reminder about this show's run at Hammersmith Apollo this summer so thought I'd check out prices. Tickets prices are unchanged from when Whoopi Goldberg was expected to star.
For the first Saturday there is nothing under £101.40 and mid stalls cost £285. For most performances, apart from a few seats at £43.80, the price range is £96.60 to £301.80. So a family or group of four booking now for say Sunday 31 July in stalls row H will pay over £1200 just for their tickets !
While this is exorbitant, a lot of seats will already have been sold at those prices because of Whoopi Goldberg If prices are cut to a more realistic level (which I'd say is about 50% of what they are now) word will soon get around and refunds likely to be demanded so a tricky situation for the promoter and venue.

It’s an interesting one. My friend has had tickets for two years, and his attitude now is that he doesn’t care who’s in the cast, he just wants to see the show now. But I agree a lot of people will have booked to see Whoopi.
