I'd say it's too early for Hamilton to tour, I'm also not sure how big it would be on the road for sit down productions. I work in a pretty big office with diverse ages etc and when I went to see it only one person had heard of it.Compared to something like Wicked which everyone seems to have heard of. It just doesn't feel like Hamilton has reached the wider general public conscience yet. Conversely, I was actually surprised by how many people 'up north' in work (and beyond) had heard of it when I mentioned I'd been to see it. People with no interest in theatre had at least some passing knowledge of the show and its reach. That said, I don't anticipate a tour anytime soon.

Is Grease the Leicester Curve version or the pink one that toured last year?

The Curve one apparently.
It's a bit different to the regular Grease productions so at least it's a bit more interesting than the standard one going out for the millionth time.

Was slightly disappointed to hear that will be the Hippodrome's big summer musical next year, but hoping there'll be something else either before or after as it's only doing 3 weeks. Grease is the other show. It was originally supposed to be Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for the usual long Birmingham summer run, but at the stage that tour was pulled, there wasn’t any comparable product to replace it. Hence Annie and Greaae. Similar thing happened with Barnum/The Bodyguard in 2015, filling the original Billy Elliot slot. I did think that if Charlie was to tour then I could imagine it as the Hippodrome summer musical, but given the current state of the show (like the Broadway production) it's probably best it was pulled! But I understand there may be summers where there are 2 smaller shows, opposed to the 1 biggie. Just seeing as Annie and Grease have only recently been on within the last few years, it just isn't as exciting as Matilda or Miss Saigon. Also I've always been used to Grease as one for the Alexandra over the years, not the Hippodrome! But still I'm sure both Annie and Grease will do well next summer!

On Your Feet - I take it is the US Tour set that is going to be loaded into the London Colesium, so given that, could be one for the road. Something Rotten - Could be something that ATG brings over for UK tour, like they’ve done before. Titanic - This sold extrmrely well, in Bromley they were sold out of programmes by the Saturday matinee, so expect this to go out again. Young Frankenstein - Said they going to tour. Bright Star - Love this to come over, in some form. Escape to Magaritaville - No chance, thank goodness.

I can just see it now...Charlie and the Chocolate Factory tour starring Marti Pellow as Willy Wonka. Guest starring Mark Benton as Oompa Loompa 6.
Seriously though, hated the London version but liked the Broadway one. Would love for the Broadway version to tour the UK.

Found the West End version utterly over produced. Not that I loved the musical in the first place.

I remember reading on Broadway World a while ago that after they transferred to the Victoria Palace, they'd wait 5 or 6 years before touring the UK and Europe. Places like Manx, Cardiff and Edin are definitely shoo-ins for Hamilton. I don't think they'd do as many venues close together as Wicked (e.g. Liverpool, Manchester AND Birmingham) because they might not want to transport the revolves between too many different venues in case of damage (would they even use revolves for the tour? I'm just rambling.) I'd be shocked if they didn't take Hamilton to Birmingham. It's not very close to Manchester or Liverpool.

Oh yes, I’d definitely say the Birmingham Hippodrome for its big summer musical. I don’t think it would do Liverpool as well as those two though because Manchester would “cover” the North West for their big sitdowns.

This is just hear say, but I’m hearing about plans for future Mamma Mia and Joseph tours reaching the Birmingham Hippodrome, as well as discussions of another Hairspray tour in a few years

I was always surprised mamma Mia chose to downsize in terms of venues instead of going back round to the large venue again

oh yeah I agree but it doesn't seem like a show that would need to get.if you can sell out 2000plus seat venues it suggests theres money to be made

I couldn’t say! I heard that it’s being announced in one of the Hippodromes next brochures but that’s all I know I’m afraid

Didn't ALW say he wanted to do a new London Jospeh production for the show's 50th (i.e. now!) which would mean the tour would stop.
Wish he would.
I know it's dated now, but when the 1991 Jason Donovan/Linzi Hateley version launched at The Palladium it was EPIC. And a wonderful reminder of just how good this show is when done well. With fabulous sets and lighting, a full band in the pit and a female ensemble matching the male in size it was SO good.
This show needs reimagining again for 2018.
The BKP tour is just so cheap is a real shame (that said, was the first ever musical I saw when I was 9 and is probably responsible for getting me in to musical theatre - so I do have something to thank it for I guess!)
The Elton John Joseph film has also been about to me made for my entire adult life lol.....

The BKL production of Joseph could do with a lick of paint, on both the cardboard sets, and the whole blocking and everything in the show. I saw it last Christmas at the Newcastle arena and it was a disaster.
It’s weird that BKL productions can range from moderately decent to good (e.g. Heathers and Sound of Music) to truly awful (Ghost and Joseph)

Any idea who the producers of the new Priscilla tour is? The artwork is different to the last couple of tours so I would say someone different has it this time?

Someone posted on Instagram about the Mary poppins going into the Adelphi RUMOR this morning from March with zizi reprising her role I can see this touring again after it’s west end revival. And the Book of Mormon tour is starting from May. 2019. And Charlie and the chocolate factory tour is still on there just waiting to confirm it. Btw if someone knows what the WMC in Cardiff’s big xmas show is please tell me it’s Dreamgirls and not Charlie as I wasn’t a massive lover of it in London I’d much rather Dreamgirls kick of its tour in Cardiff for a Christmas run thanks guys x
