And Kerry Enright is on now until next Wednesday who is quite frankly, one of the best Morribles I've ever seen! You're in for a treat there too! Make sure you let us know what you think of the show seeing as it's been a while since you've both been! I worded my response badly - I meant I haven't seen Rachel perform at all since 2012 But having said that my last trip to Wicked was in 2014 to see Kerry. Will definitely report back... can't wait!

I'm taking 2 friends who are completely new to the show (and want to see why on earth I've seen it 19 times) so I'm excited just to see their reactions! Can't wait! There's something quite magical about being with someone who is seeing it for the first time when you know what's coming. Especially Defying Gravity, nothing will ever beat it for a 1st act closing number.

Helen Woolf is on as Nessa tonight.
I was there on Monday night. Is there anything more annoying than seeing the display screens still reading "cast to be announced shortly" at 7.25pm? First World Problems I know.
The anticipation and stress it causes...
Whose that coming down from the Bubble? Oh it's Suzie. Yay. Whose the Green girl running through the door? It's Rachel. Double Yay. Whose hiding behind the Wizard's head? Martin. Mmm. Whose rolling on in the chair? Well I didn't have a clue who she was as couldn't really see but knew it wasn't KRJ so Yay! (Luckily the cast board WAS updated by the time we were leaving the show (!) so we could see it was Rosa. She was great.

Day seats are always the best seats for quite a low price. But there's no guarantee you'll get a ticket if many other people are waiting in line. If you're a student though, you can just go at any hour on the day of the performance and they'll give you the best available seat for £30 if you can show a valid student ID. That's one ticket per student ID though, so if you're not going alone you have to consider that. I am going alone but unfortunately not a student anymore! I wanted see Rachel before Christmas and this weekend seems the best, if a little last minute. I won't be in London early enough to rely on day seats though unfortunately... I'll have to have a think! Tried this before when there were numerous seats left on the seating plan. Showed both my uni ID card and my NUS card and they said no. This was at about 11am too

Perhaps it's at the discretion of the box office then? I first asked what seats do you have and only when they told me which ones they had available I got out my student card. So there was no turning back for them. Maybe try that next time?

The official policy for Student Standby is best available non-premium for £29.50 on the day, for all performances except for Saturday nights and Peak Weeks. Could it be that you tried on a Peak date?

Hmm this was a few years back 2014 I think and would have been for a Saturday matinee performance near the end of November (3 weeks after cast change I think)

So Sheryl Lee Ralph (Broadway's Madame Morrible) did an interview where she suggest Dr. Dillamond could be played by a woman. What do you all think?
Similarly, I've always thought that if ticket sales ever declined they could easily get someone like Paul O'Grady as Madame Morrible - what do you all think?

And definitely no to a man playing Morrible. It shouldn't be turned into a panto.

Interval at today's matinee... bloody hell can Rachel Tucker sing. So SO good to hear that wonderful voice again. Where the hell does she get that power from?!
A pretty riff free performance so far but she did just crack out her high F riff and a wonderful second 'bring me down'.
Really enjoying the show after not seeing it for just over 2 years.
Oliver Savile is very easy on the eye...

Glad you're having fun!
I think you've got David Gale as Fiyero today not Oliver. West End Understudies tweeted earlier.

Will give feedback later... I was in row D of the stalls and was surprised when Oliver showed up as Fiyero! The cast board was right and WestEndUnderstudies wrong!! Buzzing now...bring on the cast change performance!!

Yes, definitely Oliver.
I'm now on the train waiting to set off - a flying visit today! This was the first time I've been to the theatre alone and I'm so glad I have done it. It looked like it was almost a full house judging by how packed the circle was, just a few seats here and there remained empty.
I will give more detail later but it was a fantastic performance - Rachel and Suzy are wonderful together. Still buzzing about Rachel's performance... her acting is beautiful and her voice is just draw dropping. After she had finished singing TWAI, I heard a few people around me go 'woah' and the same again after DG.

Oliver had food poisoning yesterday didn't he? Very quick recovery. Although when you are in such peak condition it must help.... those muscles....

Back home after this afternoon's amazing performance! As tr252 mentioned, the theatre was practically full. I couldn't spot an empty seat in the stalls...
I last saw the show in February with Emma and Savannah, and left feeling a little underwhelmed. However, today I felt refreshed and energised. It may have been because the whole show felt fresh for me. The only principal cast members who were on today that I'd seen before were Rachel and Oliver, everyone else was either new or understudied!
Rachel was FANTASTIC! As I said previously, I last saw her at cast change 2012. Her take on the role has developed and grown so much since then, and I felt so much of a connection with her. She sang with such emotion! There were few riffs throughout the show apart from the high F and second 'bring me down' in DG. But she doesn't need to riff. The power alone is magnificent!! My friends thought her voice was amazing. The people behind me thought she was American bur after I briefly lent them my programme I informed them that she was in fact Irish...I for one cannot wait for January 28th. I'm sure she'll bring the house down!
Suzie was exactly as I expected and more. She was my friends' favourite. She had the ideal combination of humour and sincerity, and a beautiful voice to match. 'Thank Goodness' was a highlight (something that I never normally say!) Her acting was spot on. Not too OTT comedy wise but got some good laughs. Her Aussie accent did come out once or twice e.g. she sang 'varley' instead of 'valley' in TG which sounded peculiar, but fine!! Loved her interpretation.
Oliver...easy on the eye and a great performance as last time. He sounded a bit quieter than most but I think that he makes a great Fiyero. I was surprised that he appeared in Dancing Through Life after expecting David Gale!!
Kerry was a fabulous Morrible. Probably the best I've seen alongside Sue Kelvin. You could really see her fierceness developing through the show. I loved her interactions with Mark (who was equally good as the Wizard - not the best I've seen, but got the audience laughing when appropriate and sang his numbers well).
Idriss was a better Boq than I expected. From others' reviews, I was expecting him to be overly camp, but I felt this wasn't too apparent. Yes, he didn't seem as interested in Glinda as other Boqs have, but it made me think of Boq as a shyer character who suddenly declares his love in act 2. I don't quite know how to explain it...
Oh, and Helen Woolf as Nessa. I just liked that it wasn't KRJ who I have seen soooo many times. Helen was fresh, fiesty and had a real ooomph. I thought she may have been a blonde Nessa, but she wasn't...
I loved Martin as Dillamond. Probably more so than others I've seen!
Overall it was an amazing afternoon. I was sat in the extreme left seat of row D in the stalls and thought I would miss more than I did...the view was great value for the £29.50 paid! Obviously nowhere near as good as dayseats, but good enough! The only negative about sitting here was the sound. The speakers nearby seemed to just be playing the orchestra...which sounded fabulous, but was too loud in the ensemble numbers. A real shame when you're trying to understand the lyrics of One Short Day, What is this Feeling etc. Heyho...I enjoyed it!

I would just briefly like to mention a comment recently made, where a user claimed Rachel did a new riff in "The Wizard and I" that was Shoshana Bean inspired. This statement was completely untrue. I don't know why someone would bother to lie about such things, but some people are just compulsive liars.
Carry on (:
