These seats are in the stall F9 & F10 and great value for the view. Sitting that side of the stage there will be a fleeting moment in the opening number where you'll miss a small part of the ensemble as Glinda is sitting on the stage in front of you but the seats are great for the price. I always sit in that area.

Hi guys, I'm tempted to buy a N27 seat at the Circle because it's £27, but I don't know if it's a good view or if I have to pay more for a decent view of the show. I've seen the Brazilian version of Wicked and I really really liked, so I decided that I will see the production in the original language. I'm trying a ticket for Dec. 5th (a monday), can I get a ticket for less than £40 that is decent or this is not a real option? Go for the reduced side stalls seats at the ends of the rows or queue for day seats. I've only sat in the circle once and never again (and I was a fair bit further forward than row N) - the sound quality is so much better in the stalls! Day seats are the best seats in the theatre though.

I sat there last time I watched (as my friends refused the side stalls row D) never again!

I hate the Circle. And I really hope after Willemijn they get in a brand new Elphaba. Seems like that's too much to ask for

I really hope after Willemijn they get in a brand new Elphaba. Seems like that's too much to ask for Rachelle Ann Go, Victoria Hamilton-Barritt and Siobhan Dillon would be my top contenders for Elphaba. Although I'd love to see Jemma Rix as Elphaba some day, but unless it's her I wouldn't want to have any former Elphabas to return for a while.

I find it hard to believe there's no lady out there capable of playing Elphaba

I saw Victoria in Murder Ballad last night and would have to agree with you. She is definately the stand out for me in that show and a very powerful voice. I see Siobahn more as a Glinda though.

Likely to be an unpopular opinion but I would LOVE to see Cassidy Janson come back as full time Elphaba. She's been smashing reviews in Beautiful, and I think now more so than her original run she could bring that maturity that the UK producers seem to favour at the moment. Her, or Caissie Levy! She's a London favourite and hasn't played it here yet.
The reason they're so reluctant to get someone fresh in could well be because it's such a demanding role it could go terribly wrong, as it has done for so many actresses. They'd have to have a solid standby in place if they did bring someone brand new in. Thinking about how it panned out for Caissie in the LA production, for Nikki on tour, even for Willemijn during her first run - this role seems to either make you or break you and the producers are quite right to stay with someone who has proven to possess the ability to be consistent.

Cassidy Janson was a brilliant Elphaba. I saw her in August 2007. Great vocals when she was on form and her acting was brilliant - sorely underrated. I think she doesn't quite have the vocal chops to take on the role full time, though. And in any case I'm not sure she'd want to. It was brilliant to see her back on the Wicked stage last week looking so happy.

I saw Victoria in a rehearsal for Murder Ballad and couldn't believe my ears. Her singing is incredible. Is there a video/audio? Yes, there is. But we were only allowed to film one song, which is a song of them all singing together. I shall post it in the Murder Ballad thread, because posting it here would be a bit off-topic and maybe annoy some people

Here's hoping they'll eventually post the cast holidays. Can't wait to see Alice, and that's the only chance I have as I'm not living in the UK. This, or wait for a nine show week and see all nine shows as the standbys usually do one of the nine shows.

Maybe no one in the cast has made up their mind about when they'll be taking their holiday yet? It's still very early on in the run.

Standbys will usually get one of the midweek matinees each. At most you could do double shows on the matinees in case Standby gets an evening instead!

Guess I'd have to do all four shows on Wednesday and Thursday then to make sure to see Alice. Still, it'd be so much easier if they continued to announce the lead's cast holidays in advance so that I can plan ahead and see Alice on a Saturday. Wouldn't even have to take time off work then.

^exactly. It's really not helping anyone. If people are booking JUST to see Rach or Suzie, and they book during their holiday week because there was no announcement then that's pretty unfortunate (I know they take shows off here and there but that can't be helped). Equally, a lot of us want to see Alice and we'd book based on when she's on - so really they're just stopping us from booking a ticket. Makes it so much harder to get exited about the new understudies. Who is it helping? What is the purpose?

IIRC if there's an extra matinee that week both double-show days will have a standby on for each show (so Rachel/Suzie do 7 that week & Alice/Carina do 2)

I haven't been as much in the loop recently, but it always used to work that in a 9 show week, Wednesday matinee would be one of the Standbys, and Thursday would be the other. So both leads would do 8 shows including 1 midweek matinee, as usual, and each Standby would have 1 scheduled matinee each.
