It was the new casts first day at the Apollo Victoria Theatre today. Rachel Tucker posted a photo on Instagram standing outside the front. I squealed a little inside!

Does anyone know what is happening with tickets for the 10th anniversary? The website says that the tickets will not be sent out or ready to collect from the box office until 2 weeks before the show. However when you buy the tickets the only option is do not despatch.

Just booked for Rachel's first performance back! Can't wait, am at the front of the stalls too so very happy that I will be able to see her live in the role, especially after how incredible I found her through all the audios. It is sure to be an amazing show, especially with not just Rachel, but also the new cast!

Also, the website has updated that Oliver will not be performing tomorrow at the matinee.

I'm surprised Anita Dobson is only doing a limited season - this is a great role for her I think!

Row J stalls for me - I am so buzzing to have her back. After seeing her on BWay in May, this is going to be something special.

Enjoy the show guys. Remember though, there are lots (most, except the 50 or so diehards) who are just there to enjoy a regular performance. I have been to a few performances which sadly have been ruined by "fans" acting inappropriately. As the cinema owner in Father Ted says, "we must think about other people"

Its like when I was at Louise Dearman's final performance, couldn't hear almost any of Defying Gravity after she flew. Fair enough, I cheered with the hundreds of others when she first took flight but then at random notes, it was a tad off putting haha.

Nothing can ever be as bad as Rachel's final show in 2012, fans screaming throughout the songs, front row were hysterically crying really loudly, wanted to slap them ,hahaha
Seriously though Wicked does seem to attract OTT cast change shows
I'm front Stalls for 3rd Sept evening, and 5th Sept evening. And i'm hoping it won't be drowned out be screaming fans

I can't make this cast change, but I've already got my ticket for Rachel's last show in January. Hoping it'll be a bit more subdued than 2012.
Do let us know what the 3rd and the 5th are like though!

The loud cryer at Rachel's last show was very embarrassing. Rachel must have been mortified.
It is possible to cry without making a sound! Although that would not attract as much attention...
The final shows are generally OK compared to the muck up matinee where every change to the regular performance is greeted with hysterical shrieking, often at the most appropriate of moments. Now that is really disrespectful to the rest of the audience and also incredibly annoying!!

I am kinda expecting alot of reactions at the end of songs, a bit of entrance applause, likely the flying... her first show wont be as crazy as it was when she left last time, then again it could be manic, who knows.
And if it is anything like last year, at some point this week, the dayseat line will begin haha.

I wonder what it is about Wicked that attracts all the over-the-top fans. You don't get it (or at least it's less obvious if it does happen) with the other big musicals like Les Mis and Phantom, so why does it happen with Wicked?

You don't get it (or at least it's less obvious if it does happen) with the other big musicals like Les Mis and Phantom, so why does it happen with Wicked? I love Wicked, it is going to be my 14th time seeing it on September 5th. It came from Broadway with the craziness, and Broadway audiences tend to be quite hysterical regularly. The hype carried on here and just seemed to continue. Even though it's fanbase has calmed down a little bit since the Kerry/Rachel years, it still gets its fans regularly going crazy. You just have to listen to audio from random performances, audiences go crazy most nights at that place.
I don't know what it is that does it, but something happens in the show that causes a lot of people to love it. For me, it seems to occur after The Wizard and I that the audiences start going into the hysterical territory.
