I think it was only announced so far out last year because they were making a big statement with the three leads actors - I wouldn't actually expect to hear until much closer to Christmas.

I’ve got the 15th anniversary split black and green pressing however the sound ever so slightly crackly - I love the bonus tracks though. Definitely worth picking this new pressing up! If you need turntable recommendations feel free to message me, avoid the suitcase players and invest in something from Audio Technica for example : ) theatre and vinyl collecting .. not the cheapest of hobbies !!

I made my annual trip for the matinee today (Sunday) although I hope the attendance was because people were attending the fireworks and not a regular occurence. With that said, I booked one of the front row seats last week, but only thought to do this about four hours after they went on sale, so the days of needing to queue up and fight for tickets are long gone.
All the leads were on and I thought this felt much fresher than it did with the previous cast. So nice to see some new faces. Now, there were some ensemble who looked a little distracted, but the leads were all good. I particularly liked Lucy St. Louis. In general, the dancing is stronger than the vocals. One of my pet peeves is where the ends of words get missed, it's not a show about a "wizarrr" etc.
Mark Curry always comes across as such as star.
I doubt I will see this cast again, but I did enjoy this more than I can remember in the past.

Saw this for the first time in a while a couple of weeks ago and definitely feel like it needs a kick in the pants. Long running shows will always ebb and flow. I know not every cast can be excellent but really, only Lucy St. Louis and Sophie-Louise Dann made any impact. Both were very good indeed.
Alexia’s tone is a bit too nasal for me and thought the acting was pretty one note. As for Fiyero…
Maybe I got a bad night or the cast were a little tired this far into their contracts but I hope to see some fresh energy come March.

A very weak cast at the moment and I have no idea why they put Alexia back in with that awful vocal and almost non-existent acting. Hate being this critical but seeing a West End musical isn't cheap and audiences deserve better - especially when there are definitely better options out there that would be gagging at a chance to play the role.

Alexia is not everyone’s cup of tea but she definitely isn’t a weak Elphaba 🙄

not too sure.. think it’s just the Wicked social media manager trying to be a bit more creative haha! (I wish they’d do more fan related posts ..) “First Look” could also be the tour cast photos

Amy Webb was on as Elphaba last night (17th November, 2023).
Amy was also scheduled to be on for the remainder of the week, but Kate Leiper is now on for both shows today (18th November, 2023).

Why Amy Webb is still there is beyond me. She really cannot do two shows in a row! And besides, the show could use some new blood after all...
I went a couple of days ago to see Alexia and Lucy. Their chemistry was beautiful to see, and they truly are solid, consistent leading ladies. Perfect vocals, but such wonderful acting from both of them as well. Almost no riffing, but as much as I love a good riff, I didn´t miss them at all.
Ryan Reid... was there. Mark Curry as The Wizard was delightful, just as much as Sophie Louise-Dann´s Morrible. I did love the singing in the ensamble. They´re much tighter than when I saw the show on Broadway a year ago. Lots of issues with the orchestra though. Mix your wonderful 17 players well, I beg!
The return of Alexia with Lucy as Glinda has been the (history making) breath of fresh air this show needed for so long, and I´m so glad I saw them.
Was it an enjoyable experience? No. Why? Check the "Bad behaviour" thread soon to find out.

Ryan Reid somehow manages to get worse every time I see him. It's like I'm watching the cogs go trying to actually sing in tune, which is a shame cos Fiyero can be such a charming role if played right but he just falls flat on singing, acting AND dancing.

When I saw him he was struggling quite a bit with "and it's up that I fell" in As Long as You're Mine! The notes certainly weren't going up 😬

Saw him when he first started and he was so stiff and dull I just put it down to newbie nerves. Everything I've read since has told me that wasn't a one off. It's put me off going back even though I'd love to see Alexia back in the role. I don't understand how he's stayed so long. I might have to suck it up though because his holidays have never lined up with when I'm free. Didn't realise how good we had it back in the day with Adam Garcia and Oliver Tompsett. At least Adam had the dancing part down and was charming enough you could forgive some of the vocals. And it's all been downhill since Oliver.

No optioning up or vocal flourishes, but a solid enough performance. It was only with Thompsett that Fiyero became interesting to listen to.

Amy Webb returned as Elphaba for the show on Sunday (19th November, 2023). Based on social media, she had friends in that afternoon to see the show.
Amy was scheduled to be on Tuesday-Thursday this week, however Kate Leiper was on last night and for both shows today (22nd November, 2023).

When is the final show of this current cast? I will try and get one more Alexia visit in before it finishes.

Kate Leiper carrying on where Laura Pick left off. Do you mean Laura Harrison? She was first cover when Lucie Jones was in the show and covered many, many shows!
