The Sydney Opera House is awash with musicals at present
Not only will there be two concert performances of Funny Girl in Sydney next month as mistressjojo has reported in the 'Funny Girl' thread, but Assassins is currently playing there and on 23 June Patti LuPone is doing her show Don't Monkey with Broadway.
I am assuming that Ryan will be attending and I look forward to a selfie of him and Patti on the steps of the Opera House.

Oh bugger, I land into Sydney the morning of the 24th. That said I’m hoping to see Priscilla in the afternoon.
Really hoping I can get out there when Muriel’s Wedding returns next year

They've announced Waitress is coming to Sydney in 2020 so I wonder if a London production might be in the pipeline for 2019?

Whoever is writing the advertising copy for the Sydney Opera House is not very well informed. They were recently claiming that Opera Australia's new production of 'Evita' will be the Australian premier, which it isn't, and this is what they are now saying about the Patti LuPone concert:
"Patti LuPone brings her critically acclaimed show to the Concert Hall stage. Journey through her life-long love affair with Broadway through classic show tunes by the likes of Rodgers, Hart and more."
I wonder whether she will also be singing songs by Hammerstein, Ebb, Lerner and of course Ira Gershwin!

They are serial offenders in the art of stuffing up guest research. ( Memorable case was when DC went on about what a huge Doctor Who fan he is, then managed to get everything wrong in a chat with visiting Doctors. *smh* )

LOL. Oh no. I'm mostly familiar with his theatre and cabaret stuff, so most of my Today exposure to him has been via YouTube and when I was in Melbourne last year.

The latest email from the Sydney Opera House says that the Sydney Symphony Orchestra is presenting "Funny Girl – The Musical in Concert". OPENS TOMORROW 12 – 14 July. "Experience this iconic musical with 11 incredible women sharing the role of Fanny Brice."
They've kept quiet about that one, although I am sure the Sydney Symphony Orchestra has its own separate mailing list to which I don't subscribe.
I am intrigued that there will be eleven different women playing Fanny Brice – that's a lot of Fannies!

Bought my ticket back in November and there were only 9 Fannies then, since upped to 11 ! Going Friday night so will report back on the Fanny situation.
