I stayed in the Presidential Suite at the Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town once. £1000 a night. Recommended.

What is the question? Who is better at football? Which is nearer the moon? Which has a better nightlife for Wombles? People would find it easier to help answer your question if you'd actually posed one, rather than skipping straight to the two options.

I’m assuming the question is which of the two you’d go to on holiday, which is redundant really because no-one would choose South Africa.

I would certainly choose South Africa and I'm an American.

I’m assuming the question is which of the two you’d go to on holiday, which is redundant really because no-one would choose South Africa. I would also choose South Africa so stop acting as if you speak for everyone please. That said, it all depends on which part of both countries we're talking about, which is completely unclear.

Are we talking about gun crime here? The thing is that if you avoid the trouble spots, then as a tourist you won’t see any crime at all, in the US or in South Africa. If we are talking something else then I don’t know.

I would do both if I could afford it. South Africa has lots to offer tourists. Safari, beaches with whales and sharks, battlefield tours. I would choose South Africa this year, as the political situation there may become unstable next year. And USA in a couple of years, imo.
