Popped into the NT to browse the bookshop and picked up a leaflet on becoming a Young Persons Patron. I baulked at the prices to start with, but then I saw £16.67 a month isn't bad at all. So I suppose what I'm asking is, is it worth it? It certainly looks to be, with priority booking (and I quite fancy the NT tour too)

The NT backstage tour is really good. Done it several times. Not sure about NT productions though ...

I haven’t got the YPP, but have the Priority pass. If you want to relate the 2 I’ve found it a useful pass to have to get those cheaper tickets, but in the end I suppose it comes down to how often you are going to attend the NT to make it worth the initial purchase. If you are going to book for the majority of stuff then probably. I suppose you could try it for 1year to see how much you use it and then if you don’t use it that much ditch it once the year is up.
On the NT Tour, that is definitely worth doing. Having attended a tour myself last year, it provided a really useful insight into the inner workings of the NT.
