For anyone going to closing night - the recently announced train strikes for 6th and 7th might affect your travel arrangements, so worth checking. I've just booked a flight instead, so it'll be either fingers crossed the tube is on to get in from Heathrow, or book a car or something. Not missing this! However, the good news for people who live close and couldn't get a closing night ticket might be that some people who did get one may return theirs, eyes peeled I think! I’m having to book 3 nights in London as I will have to travel up on the Thu evening and return on the Sun. I could drive but I have no idea where to park etc. Perhaps the strike will be called off by then

I've just submitted an item to the noticeboard as I have a spare ticket for tonight's 1,000 performance Monday 29th Nov.

Great news on the tour. Now if Dear Evan Hansen could do the same that would be grand!

My third visit last night and equally as brilliant and uplifting as the last 2. Plus took a friend who had never seen it before and he loved it, so another convert to the rock.

I’m looking for some advice …
I have a ticket to the final performance in London. However, with the planned rail strikes, I cannot afford to stay 2/3 nights in London, in order to accommodate the trains that are running either side of the last night. I am so disappointed, as it’s a great seat, and such a special show.
What do I do? Try return it to the theatre; sell it on - is that even allowed anymore?
Please help an old lady. I’ve never had to do this before.

I’ve never had to do this before. You’re welcome to use our Noticeboard to sell it. I can help you if you’re not sure how to do that. If it’s an E ticket you can just forward the email to the buyer and they can send the money to you by whatever money transfer service you prefer. Or have you considered alternative transport to London? National Express? Megabus? Flixbus? etc?

Saw the Saturday matinee and this show is in fine fettle. What a cast and band. Will miss it like a dear friend when it closes - lots of love between the audience and stage yesterday.

I saw it the other day - finally caught Jennifer Tierney as Beverley, and holy hell, what a voice! Glad to have seen her before it closes. Matthew Whennel Clark was on for Oz, and his version of the plane passenger was very Scottish, which made me laugh. Sad to think that I probably won't see this show again until closing night.

I finally got to see this live yesterday afternoon, and wow - what a beautiful show! It was everything I was expecting and more. Definitely up there as one of my very favourite shows.
I'd been trying to get down to see it for the past couple of months but kept being scuppered by the train strikes. So I decided to take a couple of days off work and go yesterday. I'm so pleased I did. I'd previously seen the Apple TV version, and whilst that's great, it's not the same as seeing the show in person.
I'd managed to get a reasonably priced seat at the end of row F, which was technically restricted view, but I didn't feel as though I missed anything. Jennifer was on as Beverley, which I wouldn't have known if I hadn't been told by the lady sitting next to me. Admittedly, I didn't buy a programme (I bought the socks instead!) so perhaps there were notes in there, but there was no announcement before the show, and I didn't see any signs around. I think it's a shame for the understudies if the audience don't know who they're seeing.
All the cast were amazing, and the show flows so well. I'd wondered if it would feel a bit long with no interval, but not at all. I loved how the bows were all taken as a group rather than individually, and also the band being centre stage at the end.
Hopefully I'll be able to see this on the tour, as I really want to see it again.

There's normally a screen in the Phoenix foyer showing who's performing, just before you head down the stairs 😁

An amazing performance last night. It was my second visit to the show and I enjoyed it even more (because last time I saw it I had to take a Xanax myself when it was mentioned!! (of course not because of the show--apologies for this personal memory). It's a shame it's closing but good to know it will tour. Helen Siveter was on as Janice and Matthew Whennell Clark as Kevin. Both were excellent (like everyone else of course).

So sorry to say that this show really didn't do it for me. I caught it on Friday night (I wanted to see it before it closed - the concept really intrigued me) but I found it really unengaging - and it went nowhere, and said nothing, that I didn't already expect. I thought there were far too many characters, who were largely archetypes, and they came to realisations that seemed hugely predictable and obvious. There was very little nuance, nothing that made me think about something in a new way, no moments that made my spine tingle or felt truly magical. I thought the music was largely sold through the brilliant playing/singing, rather than anything really special in the writing. I know I'm in a huge minority here, and I'm pleased that others loved this so much, but it feels like a wasted opportunity to me to create something truly insightful and beautiful.

That's fair enough - just because it has a huge critical reception and fanbase; doesn't mean it's for everyone. NEVER apologise for your taste! It's one of my fave musicals but would never do someone down just because they don't respond to it like I do!

We caught this last week for the second time (and a couple of apple tv viewings) and I found it hugely uplifting and enjoyable. As the characters are based on actual people (sometimes plural) to create archetypes to hang the story off, it is unsurprising that some are a bit ‘obvious’. (I’m so done with ‘nuanced’. Can we get some new words?) Can’t wait to find out tour dates and get booking. I’ll be ready to see it again in a year or so.

I'm going on Saturday evening for what I know will be a joyous and emotional evening. This show is special - it resonates and taps into the hope and belief that most people are compassionate, empathetic and giving. That said, my favourite line is always: "F*** that, who's going to Switzerland?"

I think it's just not my thing - I find most feel-good uplifting kind of things (in any genre) don't convince me. I'm probably just an old sourpuss!!
