Completely slept on the fact this is doing Wednesday matinees, which I think is a great move. A lot less competition compared to Thursday Matinees. Just wish evening-wise they'd do a 7pm rather than a 7:30 so I could get a 9pm train back.

The idea of the show only being 1h 40m makes me so happy in terms of getting home afterwards. A 21:20 finish, fabulous!

I've heard great reviews from Dublin.
Although Rachel Tucker's involvement is enough on its own to make me want to book again and again.

She's very good in this. Helen Hobson was my favourite though.

What will be the real tester, and something that will keep this show thriving, and maybe some who have already seen it can give more opinion on this, but will it get repeat viewers and a fanbase? Because Rachel will bring her fans for sure, but is the show itself the type of show that will get the fanbase coming again and again? One more data point: I saw the US tour in Denver. When the show ended, I told my spouse and daughter, "we have to see this again this week" and we did.

Forgive me if I've missed this - do we know if they're doing day seats/rush/lottery yet? I'm booked for the first preview and based on how much I love the cast recording I'm fully expecting to want to go back asap.

I'm gonna be doing Violet and Come From Away on the same day. Both 100 minutes, no interval!

This is an astonishing piece of theatre.
I feel supremely lucky to have been at the Abbey tonight for its final bow there. It was a very special night with the audience roaring approval at the finale.
The cast are singularly superb. They work so well as an ensemble that it seems unfair to single anyone out but I have to say that Rachel Tucker was phenomenal.
It was funny, gripping, and there were several moments which literally made me shiver it was so good.
I was also deeply moved by it and I felt tears suddenly start streaming during Something's Missing. I had to get a grip quite quickly! Almost on a par for me with the emotions I felt during the end of Part 1 of The Inheritance and during Brian Dennehy's Death of a Salesman in 2005. And those are high benchmarks for me.
I hope that it becomes a huge, massive hit in London. It certainly deserves to be. Wonderful.

Something's Missing destroyed me too, I was a mess! It's incredibly touching.
The way Tucker delivered those last lines in Me And the Sky made me shiver too. Actually I could list so many special moments. The bridge in Welcome to the Rock ("you are here, at the start of a moment..."; those harmonies!), the English and African language mix in Darknes and Trees, the line "and in a town that's suddenly doubled population, I feel so alone"... I could go on and on, lol.

@eldermillan I'm not sure what policy is, but you maaaay want a spoiler tag for the Rachel Tucker line. Not for content, but just because it's one of those lines that hits you really hard the first time you hear it.

Yessssss, thanks Rukaya! Fully planning on seeing this for my not-yet-planned graduation trip ❤️ Pleasure! I'm sure more deets will be announced just before the show opens. It's so lovely seeing the comments on here about how much people have loved it in Dublin, I feel exactly the same way and can't wait to have it practically on my doorstep!

Sorry, I'll edit my post now. You are right, even though we all know what this show is about, not everyone has listened to the BCR. It's a GREAT cast recording, though ❤️ First time I came into contact with CFA was through spotify's radio thing when I visited New York. It randomly played "Me and The Sky" while I was in line for the 9/11 memorial museum. Not crying in line like a crazy person was....not easy. Listened to the entire album on repeat on the way home after.

I saw Come From Away when I was in nyc last year (along with The Band’s Visit and Waitress). I wasn’t planning on it but a friend recommended it and we managed to get rush tickets. I really enjoyed it. I don’t think the music itself is particularly special or memorable, but it’s such a heartfelt feelgood musical, you can’t help but get swept along with it. Its not the type of show I’d rush to see again but I hope it can get an audience here. Maybe it’s the type of show we need right now amidst all the Brexit gloom!

Pleased to see they're planning on doing rush tickets for this, I have tickets for the beginning of Feb but I know I'm likely to return and I have friends that don't yet have tickets that want to come with as well.

Also glad about rush/dayseats. I don't believe the front row was ever on sale so seems logical they may use it for that. It seems to have sold ok during previews, I really hope the word of mouth spreads fast for this one.
Could this win the Olivier award for Best New Musical? What's it's biggest competition?

It's competition will be Waitress or Fun Home mainly. It will also be up against Tina probably and then the final slot will go to something else. Maybe Heather's but I really don't think Heather's will be an Olivier kinda show.

Maybe Hadestown? It got reasonably good reviews.
