Superb third birthday show in the West End tonight. Everybody rocked. Great atmosphere - pertinent subject matter.

I can't believe it's 3 years. I do think its got a healthy life ahead. Its one musical that definately sells by word of mouth. I've seen it twice once when it opened and again when it reopened and its one of the few shows I could happily see multiple times.

I have another trip booked for early April :-)

Took a friend to see the Saturday matinee this weekend. My first visit post cast change and I thought it was in excellent shape. Jenna Boyd and Jonathan Andrew Hume remain as glorious standouts, and I loved Alice Fearn even more than Rachel Tucker, who was also fantastic. I thought Alice's voice was more comfortable in the score and she really knocked it out of the park vocally. I thought she acted it brilliantly too. Her diction wasn't quite strong enough in a few moments though.
Of the other new cast members, Gemma Knight Jones was particularly excellent. We had a few covers on so we missed Mark Dugdale and Kate Graham, but I thought Chiara Baronti did a fantastic job as Diane. James Doherty was good, but I did miss Clive Carter as the mayor, to be honest.
My main takeaway was this show still has the power to reduce me to tears. You leave on such a high though, every time. For a show that obviously goes for the emotional jugular, I continue to be so impressed by the restraint of the direction and the performances. It's a theatrical triumph and I think and hope it has a decent run left in it. The theatre was full and the reception absolutely rapturous.

You move from entertained, to thrilled, uplifted, hit with a sledgehammer back to uplifted…and thats just ‘Welcome to the Rock’.

Have seen on Twitter that Mary Doherty (Bonnie) leaves this week. Does anyone know who is replacing?

Wonderful play. I might have shed a wee tear but nobody saw anything, OK? Only drawback was the legroom in the dress circle was atrocious, even for someone quite small like me. My knees didnt appreicate the tight space. Was there tonight and the mayor guy did a tribute to Mary/Bonnie and it was very sweet. I could see quite a few cast members wiping their eyes behind him as he delivered his speech. It got filmed and a selfie of her with the audience was taken so they may pop up on socials? (Hopefully you won't spot me waving like a loon!) Glad she got a standing ovation on her final night too.

Twitter page suggests cast change announcement tomorrow. Does anyone know who is leaving and who might be replacing them?
Another former Elphaba as Beverley?

Alistair Harvey is leaving but I don't know if that suggests a cast change - we shouldn't be due one for about 8 weeks, and CFA didn't tell us who the second cast was until 2 weeks before they went in!

Just announced that Robert Hands (original Nick) is returning alongside Lejaun Shepard as Bob. Sarah Morrison (from the Australian company) and Lucy Park also join but not sure in what roles?

Sarah played Janice in the Australian production, she was fabulous as the lead in the Aussie musical Ladies in Black. Excited to see her

Sad to see this close in New York but glad it isn't a closing announcement for London (yet).... hoping it has a bit longer left in it here.

Wild few days of closing announcements over there! I’m glad it’s staying open long enough for Rachel Tucker to get to finish off her run properly rather than unknowingly playing her final performance a few months ago. I’m also selfishly hoping that this closing might mean we get Rachel back over here sooner rather than later, I miss that voice!

For an original musical to do over 3 years on Broadway is a great run and it'll live on because of the Apple TV+ film.
I suspect both this and DEH had just come to the end of their natural life and the pandemic has extended it somewhat.
It's interesting that CFA will end up running longer than DEH in London, not sure anyone would have predicted that three years ago.

I think DEH will have played 8 more shows than CFA by they time they both close EDIT: ops sorry missed the London bit

I’m pretty sure it’s also closing in London late this year / early next year.

Recently I caught an Instagram Live of a theatre performer and they let slip that CFA would be closing in January (this wasn't anyone in the CFA cast). Once the comments started questioning and they realised it wasn't yet public knowledge, they swiftly moved on.
I am gutted the West End will be losing this show. I've seen it several times and always come away feeling uplifted. It will be a real loss for London, in my opinion it's one of the best shows we have here.

Such a shame another popular show is closing I didn’t expect it but it will be interesting to see what comes next.
