Also glad about rush/dayseats. I don't believe the front row was ever on sale so seems logical they may use it for that. It seems to have sold ok during previews, I really hope the word of mouth spreads fast for this one. Could this win the Olivier award for Best New Musical? What's it's biggest competition? It's competition will be Waitress or Fun Home mainly. It will also be up against Tina probably and then the final slot will go to something else. Maybe Heather's but I really don't think Heather's will be an Olivier kinda show. I don’t believe Waitress will be eligible, as the cut off date for opening is 19th Feb, and Waitress doesn’t open until 6th March. Come From Away conveniently has its opening night on 18th Feb, with Only Fools and Horses and 9 to 5 both opening on the 19th! Fun Home.... yes, I agree that will be its main competition. The Olivier Awards do certainly surprise sometimes though. Maybe Only Fools and Horses will win...

Fun Home will be the main competition then.

Forgive me if I've missed this - do we know if they're doing day seats/rush/lottery yet? I'm booked for the first preview and based on how much I love the cast recording I'm fully expecting to want to go back asap.
Yes! Really hoping it's digital rush on TodayTix since I don't live in London. Thanks Rukaya!

It's todaytix rush £25 - seats at random, and box office £20 12 seats row AA from 10am. Glad to hear of both Rush and Day Seats! I think in the long run this will benefit the show massively!

As someone who doesn’t live in London but can still get there to see an evening show I’m very glad to see they’re doing rush tickets. Going off the cast recording and what a few people have said in passing about the show I feel I could be seeing it a fair few times. Having both rush and dayseats is a good move in my opinion. Worked well for 42nd Street and I can see it working well for this show as well.

I apologize if this has been answered already, but why are they doing previews? Considering they just finished their run at the Abbey with the same team. Is it just mandatory for a West End show to have previews?

Is it just mandatory for a West End show to have previews? All West End shows, even if immediate transfers, tend to have a short preview period becauss it's a new theatre, and especially if it's intending on being there for a while, they want to make sure it fits there perfectly before opening night.

Is it just mandatory for a West End show to have previews? Most theatres do previews even if it's had a run elsewhere so they can iron out any kinks in the new venue. It's the same if a show transferred from say the National to the West End

I see. Then my definition of preview is not correct. I've never seen a preview as a way to get used to the stage/venue (that's what rehearsals are for, right?), but as a way to see what works and what doesn't.

It's a bit of both, a way to settle the show in, see what works with audiences, all that good stuff. This show shouldn't require too much of a tech side of things, but that's why you have so many stories of things going wrong in previews with the more tech heavy shows, so they can iorn those issues out.

Even tours often have at least one preview in a new venue. You need to figure out all sorts of technical issues, and orient the local crew (if applicable) even if the content of the show is set.

I'm fairly surprised how early I'm seeing this. I didn't think I'd get around to seeing it so early in the run, but I'm there February 6th!

Hopefully this will extend to July soon. I’m in London at the weekend before it opens, and I won’t be back until July, and even that isn’t confirmed yet. This show is at the top of my list. Waitress can wait.

Try the ATG website on this link and you'll be able to book up until 14th Sept: www.atgtickets.com/shows/come-from-away/phoenix-theatre/EDIT: Sorry I see what you mean. How odd. It has been 14th Sept on ATG for ages. Don't know what has happened. It looks like they've changed their booking page. It's not very clearly set out.
