Relatively speaking it's a cheap show to stage, and I can see it running through to the end of summer. Is it though? all those kids won't be cheap and the theatre itself isn't big so the margins will be tight for a show with a lot of kids in it

I missed the TodayTix deal but would like to see this in the next month. I’m flexible on dates. Any thoughts on my beat bet for cheap-er tickets? GILT tickets are still available on selected dates until mid-February. There are also dayseats and a lottery. And the restricted view £15 and £25 seats in the stalls are actually okay for this production. If you don't want heads in front and unlimited legroom, go for row I. If both low and high numbers are available, I'd personally go high.

Plus they've nailed the merchandise in a big way. The theatre not being big is a definite advantage for a show of this scale.

Congratulations to School of Rock, which played its 1000th performance in the West End this evening!

Taking two kids, please tell me where to sit. Not top price but next to top. Is there a reduction for kids, she asks in hope but not in expectation?

Are we talking the £75 seats, lynette? You get what you pay for, but all seats in the stalls at the Gillian Lynne have a reasonable view. If you really want to spend that much, I'd go front centre. Not row A, but C then B, probably in that order. Even if you book by telephone, it's worth having a look at the LW Theatres website, as every seat has a 'view from' photo.

I do wonder if this must be fairy cheap to run as whenever you look at the seating plans looks half empty. Guess being in an LW theatre helps with the finances. Maybe they shift a decent amount tickets on day/week.
Anyway, not my fave ALW by a long way but chuffed that it's reached 1000 performances and that ALW has had a hit again! He must be pleased.

Wednesday’s evening show is booking as a ‘special performance’ on the website - anyone got any idea what’s going on? Can’t find anything about it anywhere.

Can't see anything on the lwtheatres.com website? When you go to book through the SoR site, the 18th and 20th are in red and when you click through to book it says Special Performance on both. Odd.

It's a bit desperate having posters on the Drury Lane saying "School of Rock, three minutes walk away". 😂😂

It's a bit desperate having posters on the Drury Lane saying "School of Rock, three minutes walk away". 😂😂 I can understand that. I went on Wednesday, and yet again managed to get lost while trying to find the theatre. I don't have problems anywhere else, but obviously have a mental block about finding this one. To me it looks like a car park!

It's a bit desperate having posters on the Drury Lane saying "School of Rock, three minutes walk away". 😂😂 But I bet it’s incredibly effective with tourists. You’d be surprised at the amount of tickets sold off the back of sheer convinence, “It’s a 3 minute walk from this tube station we get off at? Let’s just book that show...”

Special performances Monday and Wednesday? Hmmm. Personally, I'd be filming it both nights and editing it for a nice blu ray available just before Christmas.

Still not seen this show. What age of kids is it suitable for? Thinking of taking my little nephew who’s 7 and loves singing and dancing.
