always far too eager to win this thing while the rest of Europe is just goofing around. I thought the point of Eurovision was to come second, because if you win you have to host the bloody thing.

I send to you all my very best wishes for Eurovision. May you and you family find the peace and understanding of this campest of seasons. I hope you spend the day as you want to, either with family or alone. I personally will be slashing a chicken and dousing it in piri-piri sauce. Then I need to think about what to feed my guests tonight.

Yes enjoy the show everyone. A double celebration for me as it's my birthday too. Although celebration may be too much of a word for the Eurovision based on some of the songs in the final!

Ditto.
And no word of a lie, the woman representing Slovenia is the spitting image of the urgent care practitioner on GPs: Behind Closed Doors. Same colour hair (sometimes) and everything!

Interesting that 3 of the biggest bookies favourite's are all in the final quarter of the running order. We're 9th so could well be forgotten by the time it comes to voting. I like our entry and hope it at least gets some points.

The one I'm most looking forward to seeing again tonight is Moldova. It's not the best singing, it's not a great song, I don't want it to win, but I just loved the staging. And if you wanted to know what happens behind the scenes...

And if you wanted to know what happens behind the scenes... That is utterly brilliant They deserve a special award just for this. So inventive and yet so essentially simple. Apparently it cost under 5000 Euros to make the set. Kudos to their creative team.

That shows both sides at once - it really is impressive

That's fantastic staging. I love that sort of inventiveness.

Can't wait for tonight!
For those who don't know, Spanish contestants were in a hugely popular talent show (way more popular than X Factor used to be in the UK), where they fell in love. I know they won't win, cause as much as I love their song, it's not the right song for Eurovision, but I'm so happy for them no matter what. This is the epic performance that started everything: 😍

You need to switch to desktop mode. There should be a link at the bottom of the page. (But then you need to cope with a page that isn't designed for small screens.)

Wow, that sucks what happened to the UK. They will perform again. It happened something similar to Spain a few years ago.

SuRie recovered incredibly well - the second half of the song had the fire that was missing from the first. She really impressed me with her composure.

Well that could have been awful, one always assumes that the security is top notch at this sort of event. Well done to SuRie for holding it together so well, and for the audience singing loudly for the 30 seconds or so that she didn’t have the mic.

I’ve voted for Austria, Moldova, Israel and Denmark.
Poor SuRie, must’ve been terrifying. I think she did the right thing not performing again as she finished well.

I agree that SuRie recovered so well, big round of applause from me.
My favourite was Austria. Style of the song reminded me of Rag n Bone Man.
Ireland was also a good performance and loved his little ‘love is love’ at the end.
Good mix of typical Eurovision songs. Please don’t let Hungary or Israel win!
