I’ll openly admit it, I’m a bloody fool for a quick-change act and that couple from South Korea just rendered me open jawed. How did she do that? FABULOUS.
But overall BGT has to be one of the weeks guilty pleasures surely? Amongst the comedy dross there are absolute nuggets of real true talent.
Love. It.

Agree BB, I think it's easily my favourite of all the talent shows! And for the past few years, TruTV on freeview tend to show the most recent series of America's Got Talent not long after BGT finishes, so a double win!

Oh and didn't you just love how they used "You will be found" the other week.

But overall BGT has to be one of the weeks guilty pleasures surely? Amongst the comedy dross there are absolute nuggets of real true talent. Love. It. I always enjoy a quick change act too , do you remember the couple on BGT a few years back who were really rather good , but the girl was performing an incredibly flat rendition of “material girl” at the same time as doing the quick changes. The judges said they’d let them through if she promised not to sing . The couple refused , they said that was the act they’d always done. Pity because they were actually very clever. I’ve never seen a quick change act as slick as Anatoli and Lyubov Sudarchikovi , a Russian duo, said to be the originators of the quick change duo act. They combined quick change with ballroom dancing. I saw them on Circus Knie in Switzerland in the early 90s, I think . Their son Igor later took over the act. The Koreans on BGT did MORE changes though , an excellent and entertaining act .

SuBo was flat and the harmonies were terrible. Even Michael Ball belting as loud as he could didn't save it.
Was surprised Colin won. I thought after X's big reveal that he had it in the bag.

I have barely seen it this year, but caught most of the final.
My main thoughts:
1. That’s a lot of magicians. When did the public start liking them? Unfortunately a split vote guaranteed none would win.
2. The song choice for Susan Boyle wasn’t great. Didn’t seem like her microphone was on.
3. A well deserved winner, but Simon must hate it. Where will he make his money?

It felt like he was trying to carry her, and get her back on track, but didn’t quite succeed. Twitter is absolutely slamming Michael, unfairly in my opinion, as he was clearly trying to help her through her nerves, but they look like they got the better of her.

And the irony of the winner singing MB's biggest hit!

One of the most boring finals .... too many magicians and not particularly good ones .... I did notice the legend Fay presto in the audience one night she should be on it I didn’t get all the fuss over kujo either didn’t laugh once Barbara nice was robbed should have been in the final some good old fashioned fun lots of laughs and stage diving at 68 !! Deserves it just for that I do think MB was trying to help subo she was all over the place

Diversity were awesome! No dance troupe in the last 10 years has come close. Ashley Banjo is a real talent.
Susan Boyle was dreadful. I felt sorry for her and Michael Ball trying to help her out! She looked terrified. The producers should not have put her through it. So much for ITV's "duty of care" to contestants!!

SuBo had been on the One Show on Friday and had seemed okay. I think what appearances she does make are carefully managed. Ideally she has made a good amount of money from her record sales so can live a comfortable quiet life.
Simon makes a lot of his money through the rights to his shows etc. He can easily get an album of covers out of the old soldier and with D-Day anniversary Colin was always likely to win. He'll be fairly well protected given his age and living at RCH but Cheryl was in the audience last night so he might get lucky there.

She looked terrified. The producers should not have put her through it. So much for ITV's "duty of care" to contestants!! My thoughts exactly. Diversity - excellent piece. And how humble was Ashley Banjo in that "10 years ago" little speech. I only tuned in for the last 20 minutes on +1 for MB &SuBo. Twenty seconds later I tuned out. Oh my the roasting on Twitter! I've mentioned on here before I'm a Donny Osmond girl; he performed with Susan Boyle at his Concert at the 02 some years ago and, live, it came across very much as last night, him leading her through the song - awkward to watch, she seemed incredibly uncomfortable in front of the 02 audience. I'd want to see whoever is managing her explain why she's put on live TV when she appears to be anxious doing so.

I thought Susan was doing okay until Michael showed up, and she just looked v u comfortable with him, and I think it threw her off a bit so they both ended up sounding not great!

Subo was excruciatingly dreadful imo.She must have had nightmares from the moment she was booked about performing live.It was in the same ball-park as Sheridan’s effort.A deeply unsettling mixture of panic and bewilderment set it from the first few bars.Very cruel tv! Oh,and please can we not hear another bleeping song from that particular soundtrack for at least another ten years!! Agree that Diversity are terrific but don’t think I could sit through a full length show of theirs...surely it would be really repetitive?

I saw Diversity in the Palladium panto and I very much enjoyed their 2 big routines in the show, but I thought at the time I couldn't sit through a whole show.

I've always thought that Ashley Banjo is a great choreographer, he has really developed his routines from what was effectively a Michael Jackson pastiche and to still be having good success a decade on is a fine achievement. He always comes across as a nice guy and was very knowledgeable and constructive on Dancing on Ice panel so has a lot of opportunities going forward.

A friend of mine stage-doored Ashley last year and said he was incredibly humble and grateful for the acclaim from the fans. One of the good guys then, apparently.
