I've started a thread as I couldn't think where else to post this other than possibly in "How Was Your Day?" and as it didn't concern individual plays/shows it wasn't appropriate for any existing thread relating to those. So anyway: thank you so much to thenightowl and to robertb213 for posting about Travelzoo in the thread for The Last Ship, where I said I'd never used that site before. When I checked it there was indeed a great deal for Leeds dates of The Last Ship when I could attend, and it was only the fact that the show is 2 hours 50 long and that I'd have had to attend in the evening and travel back afterwards which deterred me from booking. However, my new awareness of Travelzoo enabled me to find a brilliant deal for a new play in York, which I was interested in seeing (The Be-All And End-All, by Jonathan Guy Lewis - I will post my thoughts idc but am still processing what I saw), so I was able to book for £10 instead of the £30 the theatre would have charged. Not only is £30 more than I would normally pay but for the very first night of a new play (no previews!) it seemed to me a bit much. I was surprised to find that Travelzoo had even offered free tix for this - which had all gone - but I was very happy to pay £10 to see both a new play and a theatre new to me which I had long wanted to visit. So I'm very grateful to the above members for the info.

Aw thank you, you're welcome! Hope you enjoy it! It's worth signing up to the weekly email alert - it's mostly holidays (still nice to look at!) but there's usually a show offer on there as well 😁
