Same. Also reminds me of fact that I don’t really get on with any of the modern 21st century Broadway scores! I did try with this and have listened to first 20 mins or so a few times to try and see what the fuss was about but couldn’t…. All very "earnest" That’s a good word for 2010’s onwards Broadway!

Just had a listen. Like most 21st century Broadway scores, it is not really my style of music. Reminds me of The Colour Purple (which I actually saw on Broadway and found quite forgettable) Same. The live New York theatre recording is much MUCH better in my opinion and doesn’t feel like typical Broadway garbage.

I didnt see this at the NT as I listened to the music and it wasn't my kind of thing. And I'm afraid I've never heard of any of the cast. Must be an age thing.

Have enjoyed Gloria and Melanie in anything I've seen them in and Grace was fantastic in Sunset so happy to see them all in this. Don't enjoy most 2010s cast albums but this is one of the exceptions. Looking forward to it!

I'm assuming staging wise it's going to be 1:1 of the Broadway production? There's maybe...two songs in the entire score I'll go back to but the show overall's fairly forgettable IMO. Interested to see how it tracks back over here, though.

Sounds like a mixture of accents being used. Wonder if they will do that in the show or if they just used their own accents for this event.

Looks like they did lots of numbers: full Way Down Hadestown video has been posted by Theatre Fan, and there are clips of Wedding Song, When the Chips are Down and Our Lady of the Underground on the What’s On Stage Instagram

Also reminds me of fact that I don’t really get on with any of the modern 21st century Broadway scores! I did try with this and have listened to first 20 mins or so a few times to try and see what the fuss was about but couldn’t…. Of course I won't push anyone to do anything they don't feel like doing - especially as it involves forking out quite a bit of money to get tickets - but I'd encourage you to not be put off by the music alone or the specific recording. I remember that before seeing it (the one time) at the NT I'd listened to bits of a "concept album" sort of thing that predated that run, and which had pretty much the whole thing on. I wasn't too impressed, but I'd got my tix for the Olivier front row already, so of course I went anyway, and... I found the show to be so much more than what you can get from the recording. Maybe it's because I've sort of grown up learning about Greek mythology and so the characters and concepts were familiar, but I found the telling of this story and the specific staging very captivating. It also helped that the performances were generally really good across the board (even though on the very night I wasn't entirely convinced by Reeve Carney), and of course it does help that I, on the other hand, tend to like modern 21st century Broadway scores... but a few times I've found the recording uninspiring only to be blown over when I've seen the whole thing on its feet. So yeah, maybe do give it a go if an offer pops up

Well all the videos of the launch have worked their Magic and I’ve just booked for my Birthday.
And in a strange quirk of fate - I’ve just looked on my memories and on this date in 2018 I was at the Nash seeing it!

Do we know if they’ll have the center stage lift over here?

The costumes in the promotional pics look a LOT cheaper than the original deigns. But seeing the fates in 3 different dresses makes me think they’re just not done yet? Bit weird not to have them ready for such a big photoshoot?

Got an email this morning with a competition to win front row tickets for the first preview.
They also confirmed that if you go to the show before 21st Feb you get a free ‘west end premiere’ Hadestown pin which sounds great :-)

The pictures don't look dramatic enough to me, they look too commercial and plain

After the Six Royalty Loyalty Scheme on Broadway now the Hadestown Passport. I really like that productions are finally acknowledging the repeat attenders and hyper fans and encourage/reward them.

That loyalty scheme is a bit mad to me. I think the most I’ve seen any show is 3 times. Obviously people do, but I can’t imagine wanting to sit through one 12 times. Certainly not at West End prices.
