What’s the likelihood of this returning to the National if the Tony’s land in their lap? Obviously I wouldn’t expect the same cast or production but I’m kicking myself for not going when it opened and would love to see it transfer again. Really hope it does come back, along with Comet 😅

Seems unlikely. Chavkin is so busy with new projects. She's at least got Moby Dick which will have a full production towards the end of the year, and Łempicka is gearing for a Broadway transfer, last I heard. I also think she's developing Black Swan. I'd say Comet is out of the question, and Hadestown might take some time.

I’m not sure about Spotify but I have them on Apple music and iTunes. Maybe they are listed under a different version of the album so try searching again and maybe removing the album from your library.

According to CBS Hadestown tickets sales rose 1300% after last night! WOW!
The Tony effect in full swing!!!!
If it continues to run for a while, no doubt it will show signs of slowing soon, I'd expect it to come back to London.

I send them a message on their FB page and they replied (already the day after): "We’re working to get these tracks live internationally ASAP, and hope to have it fixed by early next week. We apologize for the delay." Let's keep our fingers crossed!

I think the Gillian Lynne would be PERFECT for this show. That little curved stage, the revolve, the arena-style seating. I think it would suit it lovely! If SoR chucks it around the middle of 2020 it would fit it coming at the end of 2020/start of 2021. Unlikely but could be plausible.

Do we think it will come back? It did fine at the National but I didn't get the sense it would have had a long life had it transferred locally, never mind mounting a whole new production all over again. Personally I wouldn't mind see it again, but wouldn't be massively heartbroken if I didn't.

I think it's sadly unlikely to come back. It was popular here but didn't have the vibe of a 'smash hit', and had little advertising so won't be widely recognised. It also received not even a single Olivier nomination which I think is a travesty.

It still baffles me that Amber Gray and Andre De Shields didn't get nominated, and the various production elements too, yet it won 8 Tonys.

It does feel like the Olivier Nominating Committee took exception to the notion that the National Theatre was essentially being used as a pre-Broadway-tryout venue. It feels very very odd that a show which went on to garner so many nom's and then wins at the Tonys, couldn't even get a single nomination at the Oliviers 2 months prior (especially given competition on Broadway - in terms of number of new shows if nothing else - is more fierce over the pond). People will always debate the winners - will always find the odd person or show not nominated but they feels is deserving (for me this year, surprisingly snubs were Head Over Heels in Choreography, Sam Barks in Pretty Woman, Be More Chill from new musical category, Mockingbird in best play and George Salazaar in supporting actor), and will always debate the winner - but its the total lack of nominations in the first place that's surprising Personally I was slightly non-plused about it on broadway - well staged with excellent individual performances (especially from the supporting performers) - but as a show felt slightly self-indulgent. One of those 'glad I saw it, wouldn't go back' The Prom on the other-hand was one of the most wonderful shows I've seen in the past 5 to 10 years

What would the need of advertising be if there wasn't any need to sell tickets? 🙄 Yes, I meant more that although it was sold out, it didn't seem to ever get the buzz that it was an unmissable show. Everyone I spoke to about it was fairly indifferent about seeing it. And I understand they didn't advertise it much because it sold so well but that's my point... It didn't get much advertising exposure the last time so it would take a lot of work to build up recognition of it a second time round. No need for the snarky face.

Thought it was quite unusual to hear such a niche song... I guess someone at their ad agency must be a fan!

Went to see The Favourite (very good btw) at the cinema, walked into the screen and it was playing. I was very confused.
