So the whole cast of Dick Whittington then. If you had recorded it you will hear the exact same routines. Definitely not worth the high prices the Palladium is charging. It does seem to show a lack of imagination. At the very least, couldn't they have gone with a different actor for the Prince, instead of the same actor as last year? It seems like Qdos aren't interested in refreshing the majority of the cast. It comes across as a bit lazy, tbh.

I didn't even realise Charlie Stemp was in it again this year? Is he to be the prince?

Julian Clary, Paul Zerdin and Nigel Havers were in Cinderella, Dick Whittington and now Snow White - so not exactly different casts!

I could personally listen to Gary Wilmot sing the tube station song again and again. And I did about 30 times last year!

Allthings stagey got what I meant. But the cast is not merely repeated it will do the same jokes. Everyoe will Ah at Julians outfits. Wait for the innuendos. Nigel will come from offstage thinking it was his entrance and could be in the seen. As for Paul he will do the autotronic doll, pick up people from the audience and shoehim in wherever they can to do his routine. He puts a mask on one of the peope and does that bit every year with no difference. And Charlie will dance. When you go to different venues to see the same show with different vision by the director I understad. Do you really think that will happen here. Never. The comment if its not broke do not fix it at these prices does not apply. Matt Slack is at Birmingham every year but the show itself is different with only him repeated. The prices of Brum vs. Palladium is huge its just I have heard the exact same thing from Julien every time I have seen him. Same with Paul. And it will go on discounts not Christmas weeks or Saturday afternoons but it will.

@theatremonkey.com he did muck it up once when I was inside. I think it was completely muscle memory by the first preview and it was well into the run that he messed it up.
He stopped the song, started laughing uncontrollably and obviously the audience LOVED it. He then just started again a few lines back. Very very funny. If I recall correctly that song usually got the biggest cheer in the show!

I for one would love Gary to repeat the Underground song! The hours that must have been put in for a few minutes of stage time!
In fact that is one of the joys of pantomime, seeing seasoned professionals making routines look easy and genuinely chaotic when in fact hours of rehearsal and experience has gone into them. The twelve days of Christmas routine springs to mind.

I actually really like what Qdos have been putting into their pantos in recent years.
I also saw the Glasgow panto last year and although the format was similar they managed to stay true to how traditional and family friendly the King's panto is. The show didn't suffer for it at all and it was genuinely funny.
I also think, for panto, the work that Twins FX do is nothing short of magic (especially for the kids) even the Glasgow panto had a flying car!

I do wonder what they'll do for Snow White! Could be anything I suppose as they aren't always related to the plot.

I do wonder what they'll do for Snow White! Could be anything I suppose as they aren't always related to the plot. I’m sure the Palladium Effect will stay true to the plot, like they’ve done in previous years (Flying Carriage, Fariy, Rat and London Bus)! This year I’m guessing a dragon? Maybe? I’m guessing the Dwarfs house will be a huge set piece? Maybe like the house in Mary Poppins?

Assuming this is going to be the same base Snow White that Qdos have used before (I saw it in Birmingham 2013/14), there is a large piece of set for the dwarf's house, and the wicked queen has a flying dragon. Of course, this one could be completely different!

daniel sounds likely {Spoiler - click to view} Or the dragon could appear at the beginning of the show like the Rat did last year. That was genuinely scary, especially up close...Less so when you realise it's Paul O'Grady though!

If it's the same set from Southampton then it would be the mirror coming up from the pit, the dragon and I swear there was one more that I can't remember.
The dwarfs house was the same in Birmingham and there are photos online of that just Google image it

Julian Clary is the mirror so no doubt he’ll fly in on a huge sparkling mirror!

Everything has gone incredibly quiet on this production’s Social and Website!
Why haven’t we got cast photos like last year yet?
All a bit strange!
On the plus side a few leaked pictures of the set I have found online! Snowy Theme this year!
