Saw it in Glasgow last night. The best show I've seen this year.

Is the 21st August her last day? Or is the production closing?

Is the 21st August her last day? Or is the production closing? I think it's her last performance. It's still booking until January on the website so it would be odd for them to close before the summer holidays finish

I went to see this again this afternoon to see Nigel Lindsay as Nathan. I thought he was very good. Of the 4 Nathans I've seen in this production I think he's the most plausible-looking petty crook (no offence intended!) & also the best singer.
I also wanted to see the show again while tickets are fairly easy to get. I got stalls end of row B for £15 less than an hour beforehand & I bet that wouldn't happen once the Hollywood celeb casting gets going.

Are Simon and Rebel going to be in the cast at the same time?
Would be very tempted for a return visit, if so.

Does anyone know when Louise Dearman will be returning to the touring production to play Miss Adelaide?

There are however some dates when she will not be on
From her Twitter feed "Peeps please save this tweet. I'm NOT performing in Guys & Dolls all of May & 1st week of June. I'm back 7 June - 30 July excl 2,15,16 July"

As always Southampton missed out on the better casting for touring productions, I felt her replacement was very average.

So, our opera house, in Israel, is selling tickets for this tour (cheapest are 50 quid yikes)- but I have seen nothing on the internet to suggest it's international or has any intentions of coming here... so weird

Here it's booking for Sept 13-20.. that's pretty soon The weird thig is- Priscilla is doing the same thing- there are ads for it here, but the twitter account for the tour says it's over, and i have seen no mentiong of it in UK/ non israeli news outlets.. (ticket prices are also rediculous- cheapest are 50 all the way to 110 pounds) And they are advertising it with Jason Donovan in the lead who hasn't mentioned anything either. and they start performances July 6th- that's two weeks from now! It's all fishy and I hate its so expensive on top of it all :/

I caught up with the tour on Thursday but, with the exception of Louise Dearman, whose Adelaide I loved, I was rather underwhelmed by it - although I was in the minority if the roughly 60% standing ovation is any indicator! It's a show I love, but I admit I have a fairly precise vision of the characters and how they should be played (probably stemming from the film) and while the original Chichester cast of this production ticked most of my personal boxes, this one really didn't. So not a judgement of their talents, which were manifest, but rather of my unwillingness to compromise my vision! I'm at the Phoenix in a couple of weeks so it will be interesting to see how that compares...

Probably the UK producers and artists want to minimise publicity outside Israel because many people outside Israel believe, for political reasons, that artists should boycott Israel. So, touring there can only bring negative publicity to the producers and to the artists involved.

I don't believe that for one second.

If that is the case it saddens me deeply and I don't want to support a tour that comes here and doesn't want it to be known. Don't need favors. I'm aware Israel's image in the world isn't the best (sometimes wrongfully others not), but I truly hope this isn't the reason.
