Ticket availability remains spectacular for this show. Hmm, it is. I bought a £12 monday ticket but haven't booked trains...

Looking forward to seeing fellow Scot Brian in IFCA next week. I've never visited the Royal Court before which I can't really believe. I'm also really chuffed with my £15 seat in the dress circle.
They sell playtexts instead of programmes and they're £3!? What a wonderful thing to do. I'm chuffed.

The cast for The Cane has now been announced; Alun Armstrong, Maggie Steed, Nicola Walker royalcourttheatre.com/whats-on/cane/Hmm, still not quite sure, but the cast looks interesting. From reading around, Mark Ravenhill seems to be a writer who quite divides audiences & critics. What to do... what to do...

If I lived in any way close to Sloane Square, I'd go for it, with that cast. I'm getting vibes of National Treasure with Robbie Coltrane from this but I could be totally barking up the wrong tree.

I'm getting vibes of National Treasure with Robbie Coltrane from this but I could be totally barking up the wrong tree. Yep, that's my feeling too from the blurb. And that's slightly my worry; if it is covering that subject matter, then IMO it's really important to be done in sensitively. And from reading about, I'm not clear if Ravenhill is likely to achieve that balance.

Well, they are shooting themselves in the foot here as I have been 'timed out' after less than half a minute THREE times at the final stage of trying to purchase tickets for The Cane. I have also tried to ring and after 10 minutes of hideously loud 'music' on hold I have given up. I've now emailed as I have submitted all my credit card details 3 times and this always makes me feel a bit nervous.
Come on Royal Court. You cannot advertise a stellar cast like this and then fail to deliver the goods.🤬

Hope you get your tickets, Tibidabo!
This was one of two shows I pre-booked for in the current season. I think Ravenhill is an interesting writer (and I met him in passing once and he was lovely and kind) and the topic seems interesting. Then with that cast....!!

I also smugly booked for The Cane ages ago because it sounded interesting and I tend to copy whatever Foxa does if she warns me what's going on in advance.

Yep! Just got 'em foxa ! Thanks for the info on Mr Ravenhill. That's great to hear. This had me at Walker and Armstrong (who I once met at a Dirty Duck lock-in long ago and was equally delightful.)

Got front row seats for The Cane and Cyprus Avenue (the announcement of Alun Armstrong in the cast was the clincher for me booking The Cane)

I booked this afternoon and was amazed that there were so many tickets remaining, given that cast announcement. I now realise I've booked a midweek matinee. Oh, well, solves the usual problem of "where we can possibly afford to eat near the Royal Court"...

Booked for The Cane back in May just on the basis that it sounded interesting. With the cast announcement, it’s a bit of a nice surprise to get to see these people live on stage. It will also be my first time at the RC as well. Really looking forward to it in January.

The Cane was not even on my radar until you lovely people alerted me to the cast! Armstrong and Walker fab, of course, but I am also a big fan of Maggie Steed (since Pie in the Sky days!) Very underrated actress. Anyway, have had a credit at the Court for ages so booked for Dec, not sure quite what to expect but looking forward to it.

I've booked, but with fingers crossed for a last minute train ticket 'sale' offer (they do them sometimes!)....no advance train tickets left so can't afford it otherwise. Darn.

Got through to the website quickly but it's just giving me a blank page so far. Interesting stuff, though I'm wondering of Salt might tour somewhere closer to home (Manchester or Liverpool?).

Managed to book the two Downstairs shows on a Monday, website a bit buggy, also got the white page which thankfully resolved itself, Checkout popped up and have received the confirmation e-mail.
Will consider the Upstairs shows when things have quietened down, likeliness is that these will be booked as Monday Rush seats as nothing stands out as a must see at the moment.

I've booked one downstairs and might wait for advance twitter feedback for the rest - I've had some disappointments theatregoing this year so I'm more wary of advance booking, given how far I have to travel. Bit of a Catch 22 because then the advance train tickets sell out but in the long run I think maybe it's better to wait.

Salt is at Home in Manchester tonight and tomorrow, though as it's showing as sold out, I'm not sure I'm being helpful. Sorry. 🙄

I'm not sure I'm being helpful No, you are! Thanks - I might be able to get a return. Update - darn, just looked at her page and it was on even nearer here a few days ago. I didn't think to look! Oh well, given the subject matter hopefully it will come to Liverpool.
