I was on the front row this Thursday matinee - thankfully central enough to avoid the majority of the splash zone! Thought the show was absolutely brilliant - cleverly written, great fun, and packed with plenty of musical theatre in-jokes. The women, and particularly the girl playing Tina, were phenomenal and completely embraced the bonkers nature of the show. I wasn’t convinced by Jason Gardiner, but he could sing and dance well so that’s something! I was there too. Thankfully not on the front row.

Imminent news. Is this reappearing at the Menier Chocolate Factory?

Imminent news. Is this reappearing at the Menier Chocolate Factory? It was a Menier production if I remember rightly from the programme, so it would make sense. Though it wasn't the biggest hit, much as it was fabulous. A limited run could work!

I had no idea it was a Menier production - i'd be very surprised if it did come back though, as it constantly comped during the run. I saw it numerous times but never paid more than £2.50...

Looking at the programme, I don't know if it is a Menier production, but it does have a page dedicated to the Menier, listing all of the awards it's shows had win, as well as quotes from the Guardian and Trevor Nunn and how to support, so I just assumed it was something to do with the Menier.

It was a co-production with the Menier.

I really quite enjoyed it. Wouldn't be adverse to it having another outing. Sometimes you need a bit of silly fun.

I really loved it, I had so much fun! I actually ended up seeing it three times, all from the front row and I couldn't get enough, especially the subtle changes they made throughout the run. Every, single cast member was perfectly chosen, and with Tracie Bennett in the cast I think I was destined to love it. But so much fun, I'd happily see it come back again.

Though where does it say there is news imminently? I looked on their Twitter and can't see anything?

This would be a bizarre decision ... I've never seen so many offers of comps and discounts the last time round!

Just watched this on BroadwayHD.. cute show. But I really don't understand why BHD decided to film this over other options (or maybe they're just filming what they can get?)

I dont *think* BHD film anything themselves, it will have been a case of the producers filming this and then selling it on.

This played a couple of years back at The Arts Theatre where Choir of Man has just finished and Bonnie & Clyde is now playing.
For anyone interested, the West End production was filmed live and has just been released on DVD/Blu-Ray.
Filmed live at the Arts Theatre in London, the musical Ruthless! is now available on DVD from Liberator Studios.
Here's how to buy Ruthless! The Musical on DVD now: Amazon is now shipping orders for the DVD of "Ruthless! The Musical", which was released on the American site March 22nd, 2022.
The DVD is classified "Region 0 - All Regions" and will play worldwide.
The West End production was captured on film right before ending its extended run at the Arts Theatre in 2017.
Production company Liberator Film Services filmed the musical in collaboration with BroadwayHD, which later released the production on its streaming platform.
Liberator Films recently released home releases for other musicals such as Kinky Boots The Musical, 42nd street, The Wind in the Willows, and West End musical From Here to Eternity - all available to order now.
More productions are expected to be released soon through Liberator Films.
How far would you go to get what you want? The all-female camp KILLER cult classic finally makes its way to London following its critical acclaim off-Broadway. Ruthless! The Musical tells the story of the beautiful and talented 8-year-old Tina Denmark who will do anything to play the lead in her school play… ANYTHING!
It started Off-Broadway 25 years ago and discovered young performers including Britney Spears and Natalie Portman. The show famously spoofs Broadway musicals from Gypsy to Mame as well as iconic films including The Bad Seed & All About Eve.

Good news it's on YouTube. I looked at Amazon for the DVD and it's over £20 which seems a lot of money for a dvd these days. I did enjoy the musical and saw it twice at the Arts Theatre.
