I think if this i done well it could have the power to be a landmark in theatre. I don't know what it is, but this is the feeling i'm getting.
I hope it does prove to do well!!!

So this screengrab isn't great, but they've posted a video of the casts reactions to the set and theatre. At the end of the video it does a quick pan round to reveal some stuff, doesn't give much away, but I've clocked that the Windmill is there in the auditorium! Quite cool! It also looks like theres a huge illuminated 'Moulin Rouge' sign that flies in right down-stage, which would explain the neon 'M' in the previous instagram post. Possibly for some scene on the roof?

I want this to be big sets, big emotions, over-amplified, soaring trumpets, beautiful harmonies, intensely lit and colored, and extremely romantic and overproduced. I can't wait until Thursday.

They've just posted a photo of the stage on Facebook! It looks STUNNING
(Not sure if I'm allowed to post it directly on here, but just search for Moulin Rouge The Musical on Facebook and you'll find it)

They’ve certainly pulled out the stops. It literally took my breath away momentarily.

The Emerson Colonial looks great, ATG really has done another great job refurbishing their theatres in the US.
I wonder theatre they're aiming for when it goes to Broadway, my guess is the Al Hirschfeld but it'd be really cool at the Winter Garden, Shubert or the Imperial

I can't stop looking at it! It would look perfect in somewhere like the Dominion (complete with a Windmill on the front of the theatre). Pleeeeease let this be good!

The Colonial is gorgeous to begin with. I saw countless shows there from '99-2002 since I was a student at Emerson College! Seussical, Footloose, Waiting in the Wings, Fosse, Sound of Music, just to name a few.
That was way before Emerson bought it. I'm so excited!!!

Ooooh pretty. And it'll be even prettier with Aaron Tveit on it.

Arg. They've cut the Show Must Go on. But they've put You Spin me Round (yes, as in the Pete Burns, Like a record baby) in. Gosh don't know what to make of this all.

If they ever bring it to London, this is destined for the Dominion. I doubt they'll have to wait long seeing the current trend of shows that have been in and out of the Dominion.
I really don't think it'll have many issues with selling either- it's such a big film and if marketed properly could run for years and years IMO.

I could it at somewhere like the Prince Edward as well, I’ll be curious what Broadway theatre they opt for

I'd much rather see this at the Palladium if it transferred here. Would be nice to have a musical that could run there. Also would look very lavish and have plenty of space for the set pieces in boxes etc!

The Emerson Colonial is much much smaller than the Dominion or Palladium. It's more like a Prince Edward or Adelphi than Dominion or Palladium. Even smaller. They'll have to go with the medium size theatres if they want to replicate the current size.

Shows intending to sit down for longer runs generally seem to need to fit into the medium-large size houses rather than the barns.

Although I'd prefer it at somewhere like the Prince Edward, I wonder if the Nederlander would be able to do to the Dominion what ATG did to the Lyric and make the Dominion smaller if they really wanted Moulin Rouge. I know the Ed Mirvish in Toronto and the Lyric in Sydney have a system where capacity can be shrunk or increase depending on the show just by using fake slidable walls.

according to a poster on broadwayworld they already have a west end theatre booked for late 2019 (same poster also said frozen is booked into drury lane). That set screams the Dominion all over it but the lush red of the Prince Edward would also fit.
However the more I read about the changes to the music, story and characters the less interested in it I am

Does it though? The Dominion auditorium is quite possibly one of the ugliest auditoriums in London's glitzy West End. They're going to have to do a lot of work to make that frog a prince.

Is it just me who, whenever I see this title, always thinks "Moulin Rouge.........ah ha!". Now what a mash-up that would be!!

Keep in mind it’s a tryout and lots will be likely change before it opens on Broadway, it’s happens with many shows like Aladdin for example which made major structural changes as well as cut and replaced songs from its Toronto tryout to Broadway
