She has a good stretch of time to play Candy Crush, after The Confrontation she doesn’t come back on until One Day More.
I read somewhere that this was the case because during the original production rehearsals Patti LuPone made herself scarce when they were rehearsing those scenes until the director cracked down and put her in ODM 😄
Must be quite entertaining to watch internationally acclaimed greats like Lea Salonga, Rachelle Ann Go & Judy Kuhn play bullet boys!

It was in Pattis autobiography.

Do You Hear The People Sing to be picky I see there is some disappointment here with the current cast. I've been a few times this year and I am happy with them with the exception of Eponine. What do people think of Hayden as Javert? I preferred Jeremy Secombe but last time I went I enjoyed Hayden's performance, he really looked like he was relishing the role and it was great to watch.

I saw Hadyn back in his previous stint and thought he was abysmally bad. I was due to go a few weeks back, but when I learned that he was leaving I exchanged my tickets to fall after the change of casting. Pleased to hear you enjoyed him though - if he's improved as his run has gone on then that can only be a good thing

Does anyone know if 9 June is the confirmed date for cast change? Or might they go a week later to 16th and get back to being more in the middle of the month? I want to book before all the good but reasonably priced seats are gone, I can't believe what they're charging now for the premium seats!

DMT charge a £2.50 exchange fee, so you could always book for the 9th, and move to the 16th if needs be

A few of the cast spotlight pages state they are there until the 9th June (when their contract ends) so I assume that will be the change. I am booking matinee from the following week just in case.

Thank you both, I'll risk the 9th for now and the exchange fee is useful to know about in case I need to swap!

Killian is off an awful lot, I wonder if he has health problems or if it's in his contract?

I got the impression from a few things he said that he is considering staying on but perhaps he won't if his health hasn't been so great. He seems to be off almost once a week excluding Mondays. I am a fan of his but I'm reluctant to book too far in advance.

Lillian appears to have made a number of visits in NY and I'm wondering if he's doing some sort of audition. Perhaps returning g to Broadway? He always struck me as being a performer who rarely went off sick, bit like John Owen-Jones

His girlfriend (Taylor Louderman who he was in Kinky Boots with) lives there, hence the visits, but maybe he'll go back there though to be closer to her. I'd miss him

Hmm. I saw the show a couple of months ago and thought I liked the new cast, a recent visit told me I was wrong. I somehow thought Karis would settle into her role but it's probably just me not being keen on her voice, may also be because Eva's ponine for me would be super hard to top considering she was my favorite. Still backing Shaq Taylor as Javert - incredible. This cast truly is in need of a push in the right direction, not terrible but not amazing.

Just read on the MTAS facebook a post by someone saying there is a rumour that Conor Maynard is next to play Marius.
Please god I hope not.
Next, why on earth are Les Mis trying to stunt cast. The show sells out.
If you watched I'm a celeb his brother was the one kicked out on the second day. They are Youtubers although he does sing.

I think the 'rumour' was just overheard in Theatrecafe, so it could very easily have just been a fan / some random person dream casting hypothetically.
Feels like a weird bit of casting as Les Mis doesn't frequently do stunt casting, does it? I mean, it's had some pretty high profile cast members in the past, but they've been known for their work in musical theatre too (I could be wrong, I'm not super in to this musical tbh). Conor Maynard seems like too bizarre a choice imo.

Wasn't Matt Lucas in it a few years ago? What was the deal surrounding that?

It occurred to me the other night - do the girls who play Young Cosette and Young Eponine just go home after their scenes? They don't bow at the end.
And is Young Eponine an alternate for Young Cosette? Or do they cast a child to just come and be sung at on stage?

Same on Lion King. They can only do a few hours a week So they use them as sparingly as possible. The kids on Lion King at least get a bow at the end of Act 1, unlike Young Cosette/Eponine.

I have seen the two girls bow for matinee shows. Young Eponine is a cover for Young Cosette. They can do the scenes without the Young Eponine (I have been there when Young Ep was missing. Mme Thenardier just speaks to stage left)
