Just out from today's double header. Wow! Very impressive play from a young writer. Superb cast particularly Kyle Soller. Third time I've seen Luke Thallon after Albion and Misalliance and he has been excellent in all of them, def a name to watch. The seven hours flew by and this deserves a longer life either on Broadway or WE. Five stars

Does anyone know if this is definitely transferring? My partner and I are in London in the autumn and definitely want to see it. I’m holding off booking anything else if there’s a chance it will be in the West End

Having now seen both parts (on separate days), I don't know if the gap between the two diminished my enjoyment but fine as part two was, it seemed like more of the same and as though I could quite comfortably have left the characters at the end of part one. However, I'm not in the demographic which seems to find this pair of plays most relevant and affecting and I had to pay about 3 times as much for my part two ticket as I paid for part one, so maybe the combination of the enthusiastic comments above and the cost raised my expectations a little too much.

I’d like to thank @ryan for the fact that John Benjamin Hickey In knitwear picture now appears when looking at this thread via Tapatalk that cheered Monday greatly.

I've been thinking (and admittedly tried this morning) about rush tickets to go back to this, but if it's definitely transferring perhaps I'll wait. Definitely swinging by the YV for the playtext though...

I have a ticket for Thurs and Fri and a ticket for the two shows on Sat. Just finalized my travel plans and I am going on Thurs and Fri. The Young Vic will give me a credit voucher for the Sat shows but as a visitor not sure if I would be able to use the credit voucher. The Sat seat is Row H on the aisle. Have there been people waiting to buy tickets on the day? Would prefer to sell it.

Thank you Peggs. As I will be going to the National to see the matinee of Nine Night on Saturday it will very easy to stop by the Young Vic at noon to see if I could sell it and then have plenty of time to get to the National for the matinee at 2:30pm. If I cant there will one happy lucky dipper.

Went to the two show day on Saturday. Part of me was a bit wary about this play. When I was growing up in the late 80's/early 90's knowing I was gay I used to go to the library and check out any gay themed books but I always preferred the British ones as the US ones always seemed to be about rich, arrogant gay men swanning around the Hamptons until AIDS hit. This had some of that but is overall a lot more interesting.
There were certainly problems, it felt very unfocused at times with the writer trying to do too much and the second play in particular suffered from being too long and I didn't find Adam and Leo as engaging as the other characters. However when the focus is on Eric, Toby, Henry and Walter and the idea of community and inheritance then it worked and some scenes were extraordinary.
Performance wise, Kyle Soller is exceptional and holds it all together but Andrew Burnap, John Benjamin Hickey and Paul Hilton are all excellent. I thought Redgrave was great, she really nailed her scenes when I saw it. I wasn't as impressed with Levine but other than the sauna monologue I didn't think he had as much to work with.
All in all I'm glad I saw it and some scenes left me in bits but I do feel there's an even better, much tighter two part play in there somewhere.

I think I preferred part 2 but that might just have been due to the fact that I had a month's gap so that is the one clearer in my mind. I found I went straight into it whilst part 1 took a while and it still had the jaw dropping, didn't see that coming moments though nothing quite on the scale of the ending of part 1 I grant you. It's a play I've found difficult to vocalise my feelings for, i'm not quite sure why, something to do with the multi stranded themes perhaps that left me feeling like i'd left huge bits out however I explained it. I couldn't do the Angels compare as I was so ill for that, that it distorted my views but glad to have seen it, I liked the simple setting, the multiple characters weaving in and out, the use of E M Forster and Howard's Way, the brilliant acting. Really need to go back through the thread and see what I missed though as suspect that would enrich my viewings.

Looks like the site is having issues? I just get the AKA logo.... Still good to know it's got a transfer date. If I can find a whole day of theatre-ing I might give it a bash again.

Oh exciting it is official, missed it at the young vic so am happy it is transferring. Had a dream a while ago that I went to see it and met Vanessa Redgrave so I feel like that is a sign I should see it.

This is fantastic news! I really can't wait to see it again making sure to bring as many people as possible with me - this really deserves to be seen. I noticed on another article the dates given were September 21st January 5th. And it was also noted "The majority of the cast will transfer, including Burnap, Hilton, Hickey, Soller and Redgrave, plus Hugo Bolton, Robert Boulter, Hubert Burton, Samuel H. Levine, Syrus Lowe, Michael Marcus and Michael Walters"

I saw Redgrave on stage many years ago in Three Sisters. Somewhere in the West End, I believe - in those days it wasn’t quite so exorbitant. She seemed an ethereal presence. And that voice...I really hope I get to see this.

Anyone know if the Young Vic usually sell tickets for their shows in the west end? Yes, they normally put those tickets on sale in their website. if you look now, you can see that they are selling tickets for "The jungle" after its transfer in the West End.
