Have not watched any of these before but have just watched yesterday's on iplayer due to the casting, Hattie Moran, Rory Kinnear, Bill Paterson as well as Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith, it's a rather glorious half hour of comedy of errors revisited via iambic pentameter in a hotel corridor. Worth a watch.

Yes last night was pretty spectacular. The script deserves award recognition for sure. Though I've loved pretty much every episode. 12 Days of Christine was one of the best bits of telly for years.
Theatre types might also lie to watch The Understudy episode as well as Seance Time as they are both got a bit of stage-yness to them.

It has been a must watch show for me from the outset. Zanzibar was delicious. Great writing matched with a strong cast and tight direction. Fab, fab, fab.

Am quite a fan of the show and really enjoyed last nights episode a nice mix of cleverness ,Shakespeare and just silliness. Look forward to the rest of the episodes in the series. Another one I enjoyed was one I think in the first series where the episode had no dialogue and that was very funny.

I love the show watched the very first episode when it first aired instantly hooked. Having an unknown element of every episode you just don't know where it will go. If you will be laughing at the end, crying at the end, or have no idea what happened at the end, because you spent last 5 minutes with your hands over your eyes. I never grew up watching anthology style shows it's as I have got older I found I really like them.

Yes one of my absolute favourite shows on telly at the moment. Every episode is a little half hour gem, this week's being no exception. Shakespeare meets The Grand Budapest Hotel. Glorious!!

Just caught up with this. Hilarious. ( I had seen a couple from the first series but then lost touch with it.)

Just watched it. Very clever and superb cast. Wasn't Sheridan Smith in an earlier episode?

Indeed she was! Series 2, the Ep is called '12 Days of Christine' and is a little masterpiece.

Loved it! Btw, I think the hypnotist's line about "having to paint in primary colours" was a nod to something the actor who played Captain Peacock said snootily to a young Reece Shearsmith, about acting in provincial theatres.

Just caught Zanzibar and it was epic. I don't know what awards Shearsmith and Pemberton could be nominated for, but they deserve them all for this episode, for the writing alone! Cheek to Cheek smiles for the entire 30 minute episode. So rare so have quality, intelligent, writing like this on television.

Reading further now, it is also a pun with characters named Amber, Green, Red, Mr Brown and Mr Blue.

Oh, I didn't notice that! Shearsmith was on Radio 5 a few moths ago talking about Hull City of Culture when he told the Captain Peacock story - he was young and thrilled to be meeting an actor off the telly, but the actor was rather withering about Northern audiences.

Brilliant. And did we spot the rabbit/hare prop that is glimpsed somewhere in every episode?

Such a nostalgic and moving second Ep! Made me tear up. I do love when it's a two-hander between Reece and Steve - a brilliantly-written script and a couple of fab actors is all it takes for a great TV shows.

Have nearly caught up with all of these now before they disappear off iplayer, some have been most unwise to watch just before I go to sleep but what brilliance, such clever ideas, great acting (clearly an acting draw with the names they get) and all so different.

I watched this one last night- I laughed, I cried. It's near perfect a half hour of TV as you can get that. As much as the big 'set piece' ones are great, the quiet two handers really show what they can do writing and acting wise.
Also Reece kind of rocking the grey hair there, I approve (sorry that's a very shallow addition but still).

Well last night's was fun for all of us ALW fans out there. Great episode. Amazes me how they can come up with so many unique and original episodes. Absolutely howling at the line: "I haven't felt this ill since the previews of Love Never Dies"

It was a very clever piece of narrative construction. The reverse timeline takes careful handling and it was neatly pitched to reveal the clues and twists in surprising ways. I think it needs a second viewing to pick up on everything.
This is feeling like their strongest series to date
