I think Michelle Visage was there too, judging by her Instagram stories.

I saw this yesterday and my friend and I LOVED it. Such a refreshing show! I’ll def try and catch it again this year, and it’s a great show to take friends. Oh and Katharine McPhee was there also in the audience which was pretty cool. I was going to try and speak to her afterwards but some other girls had got there first and I had to rush off. Also I’d probably be way too nervous anyway. I’m terrible in these situations and lose the ability to speak! I was there too. I totally panicked when I saw her but eventually We spoke to her and took a picture with her and she was lovely. Really fangirling moment. Michelle Visage was there too and Lucie Jones as well. But most importantly the show was absolutely amazing!!

I think it shows the UK can produce new musicals and I won’t take away any of its success - it’s doing remarkably well. But the UK continues to struggle to produce a brand new musical capable of selling out a west end theatre, that isn’t based on an existing property, for anything other than a short or limited run. The biggest successes here come from America. Even ALW has decided it’s probably best to open his new work there now then import it. All we get now are original jukebox shows.

What awards can this pick up in 2019? I feel like it needs to win everything it’s eligble for!

What awards can this pick up in 2019? I feel like it needs to win everything it’s eligble for! I just checked the SOLT website, and whist the Arts is considered an Affiliate Theatre rather than a West End Theatre, it falls under this category: "*The above Affiliate Member theatres have opted to pay the Performance Levy to allow all their productions (in their main space) to be eligible for the main category Olivier Awards. They are not eligible for the Affiliate Award". So it will be eligable for Best New Musical and any catagory it could fall into. I haven't seen the show yet, but based on photos and videos, I could well see the six girls get a Best Actress in a Musical joint nomination at least. But again, it's a stacked catagory.

Weekly alternate schedule sounds interesting! How will it work? Will each of the Queen's get a performance off each week?

I’m not sure how this works/how up to date their list is, as last year The Other Palace had the same status as above (and still does) yet when the list of Olivier eligible productions was released, only 1 show from TOP made the cut, even though other shows also met the opening date/number of performances criteria. I also seem to remember someone saying on the Olivier Awards thread that they didn’t think the Arts was paying the Levy anymore, but I think they’d be silly not to as they certainly have the chance to score some nominations!

I would imagine because they are aiming for a long runner they will pay the levy. Especially as it has potential to get at least a few nominations. I actually wouldn't be surprised to see this win Best New Musical. It's got rave reviews, is a British Musical which has become a crazy hit and is looking to be a long runner and is selling crazy well! I'm so happy for its success!

Weekly alternate schedule sounds interesting! How will it work? Will each of the Queen's get a performance off each week? That's the plan, yes. Each alternate should have one scheduled show a week in each of their two alt roles once everything's settled.

Also, if they are Olivier eligable, all six of the girls have to do all performances Olivier voters will attend in order to get nominated, so I imagine too they will bring the alternate schedule after the nominations are out.

Oh to be a fly on the wall when one of them misses a show and the other five get a nomination . . .

When they made the announcements about extra cast I thought they’d be new swings so would eventually end up with the three of them covering all six roles.
The alternate approach means you could have a situation where two of the queens are off and the alternate is on and can’t cover two parts, although I guess Grace would then go on as she knows all the parts?
Just feels odd from a usual cover approach where the roles don’t really require an alternate given the style of the show so wonder why they’re limiting the new cast to two queens each?!

They’re just alternating two roles each, that doesn’t mean they don’t cover the others. Each role will have a first cover (the alt) plus a second and third.

I don't think this is an issue - but SiX did play at The Arts in January 2018 which was last year's Olivier season. I don't think it had the required number of performances to have been eligible last year, though.

Finally got round to seeing this the other night, and I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun at the theatre! This show deserves every inch of praise it’s getting! Although each of the Queens are incredible in their own rights, there’s something about Millie O’Connell that just kept my eyes darting back to her, she really knows how to command a stage! I have a feeling I’ll be back for more!

There's only 6 tickets available and from what I've seen they've gone to fangirl for the show everyday. All I can recommend is being ready at 10am.
