I am probably the last forum member to the Six party but finally went to see it last night. Thought it was great fun and really enjoyed it. More of a pop concert than a musical but some really good songs and an excellent cast. I didn't recognise of the Queens but they were all great singers. One of them looked exactly like Olivia Coleman (even down to facial expressions). 80 minutes and no interval is perfect for me and it skipped along really quickly. I was expecting a teenage female audience but I was really surprised by the spectrum of age groups. A large group of elderly Americans sat around me and I was a bit worried as I thought it would be too loud for them and not their type of show but they were clapping along and up on their feet at the end, so just shows how much I know. Not something I feel I would want to see again but really glad I finally went. As a side note the legroom in the stalls was some of the best i've seen in the west end.

Are there any set days the alternate ladies perform?

A 'world tour' of this is due to be announced soon, the cast have already been cast. I know nothing else in terms of countries or venues but a friend of a friend goes to drama school with one of the queens, straight from 3rd year to this.

I finally saw this last night and let’s just say that I might have found my new least favourite musical in London. I’d listened to the cast album a couple of times so I knew the songs, some of which I really like. The actual show just didn’t add anything to it, it felt more like an extremely polished product than an actual piece of live theatre.
Four of the queens were played by alternates or swings, and sadly, one or two of them were simply not very good. My main problem, though, might have been the dullness of the orchestration, if you can call it that. No wonder the band looked so bored.
Two stars.

I've only seen it on YouTube, but it didn't do anything for me so decided to give it a miss in the theatre.

Last time I saw Six in London the two young ladies I chatted to said they saw the show once a week and were up to 100+ visits. I'm only just into double figures but could willingly do the same but for cost and practicality !
Six stands up to multiple visits for me in the same way I never get bored listening to Queen's Night At The Opera and Simon and Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Waters along with a couple of dozen other favourite albums. It's that cross between a musical and a pop concert that has made it such a worldwide phenomenon I think. Clever lyrics, catchy tunes, perfect feelgood entertainment.

Maybe one day, if I can get a cheap ticket. You can tell it's still hugely popular - their week in Bristol in September has been sold out for some time.

Fun to see the west end version of this even if it's not different from the touring one but did seem slightly more cramped on the vaudeville stage. As seemly the only Sunday night musical it was full but older audience than may have expected but everyone seemed to enjoy it. The Queens were all very good and some great vocals, judging from the bios the ladies have plenty of work jumping from one production if six to another one around the world. still odd seeing a musical and out at 8.30 but it works for this show.
