Two casts ready to go. Indoor performances allowed from August first.
Get this production into one of the larger London venues and perform it to 3-400 a show. Adelphi and Savoy both empty. Surely it’s better than having them sit empty for a year?

Surely it’s better than having them sit empty for a year? I don't think moving venues is that simple, they still have an agreement with the Arts Theatre which they'd have to pay off in order to move but also there's a risk they'd end up having to move again if the owners of both theatres have something lined up next year.

It can be as simple or as difficult as they want to make it. As long as the Arts still get something out of it, it is surely more than nothing. Likewise, if wherever it went had something else lined up it’s hardly the ‘Bat Out of Hell‘ set is it? “Here, carry these sparkly flats down the road“ we’re moving again. It is the perfect touring show all wrapped up with a bow & ready to go, and could even do two show days every day with the double cast available. It just takes will and perhaps a bit of compromise.

I know its easy for us sitting at home but this does seem a good idea. Even if they have to adapt it to Six 'in concert' it seems an ideal one to adapt as it starts with a small cast. I think it is the introduction back in to theatre we need. I think it would be more likely if it was already in an LWTheatres house as ALW seems keenest to get going and I feel he could make the swap happen.

Well, today would've been cast change day. Already, Natalie, Courtney and Danielle have confirmed they would've been leaving today.

I can’t imagine what could be done to make it any more so. It’s six girls and a band on stage singing.

I suppose they could have one girl doing all the parts with a selection of hats/wigs, and a synth. That would be fun. Might even be better than the original if she’s not one of the screechers!

One of her fanpages on Instagram “announced” it after apparently being told by her at stage door she was leaving. Not official but I reckon it’s probably true if most of the others are going too.

She has now replied to someone’s tweet saying she indeed would be leaving yesterday. And also saying in the tweet that they will get 5 months when the show reopens. And then I assume there will be a complete changeover in casting, including those who didn’t announce anything yesterday.

They were aiming for November 15th, so hopefully all these new lockdowns wont effect that.

Hopefully producers will now start to realise that there IS a way to have theatre with social distancing until all this is over, with concerts/cheaper productions/fewer cast members etc.

I wonder if theres an element of chicken being played by ALW and Cam Mac seeing who will go first. If they can open ‘Cats’ in Shanghai (thanks Nic) hopefully someone will take a chance over here; but they are further along in the journey I guess.
Both have titles that could be ‘Concerted’ a la ‘Six’ with less starry, less pricey casts or just fantastic jobbing performers who need to eat. Either way lets please make it work.

The Palladium has been a successful Covid safe environment. Stick it in there.

Something...anything...then replicate it in the larger receiving houses across the country. Be it Six or anything else. Our souls need lifting.

I said ages ago put six in the palladium and sell 800 seats. They even have multiple casts so could have 3 bubbles worth! I know it’s not that simple in real life but especially for theatres that are dark I feel something could be put in!

I know it’s not that simple in real life but especially for theatres that are dark I feel something could be put in! The problem is that while it might be possible whatever they do has to at least cover all costs and it's not cheap to open a theatre! I know where I work we have to have a minimum number of people per day to make it viable, if we dip below that number it's cheaper to have the place closed and us on furlough. This is why there will be so many redundancies, not because there aren't jobs for people when the cases drop and we find either a vaccine or treatment that means we can pick up some form of 'normal' life but because once the furlough ends it won't be affordable to keep those people. I just hope there will be enough people still with jobs and the money to go to the theatres when they do finally open

So I think we have confirmation then if Nica is opening up SIX of her theatres, chances are that SIX is going where the rumours say. I wonder what sort of price we’re looking at? For a shot of joyous adrenaline like Six I think people will pay a pretty penny, and as previously discussed, they have several casts to pick from so could ramp up the number of performances if demand was there. Bravo.
