Shouldn’t the drive in be a thread of its own? Cast members have said on Instagram Lives its a separate project to their contracts at the Arts Theatre and on the UK Tour

Only announcement I have seen is Cherelle Jay is Cleves for the West End cast venues.

All we know is Lexi won’t be doing the tour as she has her son to look after and it would be unfair for her to make him isolate with the rest of the cast. However this doesn’t mean she’s left Six permanently as it’s a separate commitment to their actual show contracts (as confirmed by Courtney on Instagram) But Lexi aside, everybody else seems to be going on tour |

I’m gutted and littlest is in floods of tears right now. I’ve promised we’ll go to the theatre again and see the show when we get the chance but the first thing littlest was doing every morning was asking Siri how many days there were until 4th August.
I might hold off buying tickets for JCS now until it’s up and running in case this happens with that too.

With the numbers going up, in certain places, it's the right decision to make. |

I don't get what's changed since they announced it It seems to be about the risk of dates being cancelled due to local lockdowns rather than risk to people attending or those involved in the production. Clearly the news has come as a complete surprise to those involved with Six. One of the quotes from the Six production team says that: That, combined with the explanation from Kenny Wax in The Guardian article about cancellation insurance, would seem to hint at what is most likely the reason behind the whole series of drive-in events being pulled. On a personal level, this had been a real boost having some theatre to look forward to over recent weeks. It feels like it's going to be a very long summer again now. How incredibly sad for all involved. |

I don't get what's changed since they announced it Some of the cities that the Drive In were going to are high risk and could very possibly end up in local lockdowns, which could make things very difficult. There’s the argument of why didn’t they just cancel those cities, but while it’s obviously very disappointing I don’t think you can really begrudge them for putting safety first. (I would think finances and insurance play a part too) |

Local lockdown is a real threat. It is clear theatre, on the whole has given up on London but all the hope for the regions (who have suffered major losses) may also go with this plan. What other options do they have if a second wave however localised looms large.
