I just gave a quick listen to Hunchback on Spotify and it's really incredible! Generally, I hate Disney dealing with theatre, but I really enjoy this one! It's a shame it won't make it to Broadway - at least, not before Frozen.

‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ is masterful, what a beautifully sounding and strong cast recording.
It is one of my favourite Disney’s, it is dark and the cast recording reflects this so beautifully.
I don’t think this has any chance of coming to London but such a shame that we get groan ‘Guys and Dolls’ for the Phoenix when you hear incredible stuff like this.

I downloaded Hunchback today. It's so good. The choir work is amazing. I'm just a bit disappointed that Someday does not have the choir like the German version, but otherwise the recording is gorgeous.

I must seek out the 'Someday' Germany cast recording with the choir, it sounds wonderful on the USA cast recording.
I love how stagey they have turned it from being the single from pop r'n'b group'Eternal'. If you aren't familiar with it, you would never guess this was a pop single in the charts.

It was originally written as song that was supposed to be in the film. I believe there already is a demo version with Demi Moore singing it (as she is the voice of Esmeralda in the film). I think in one of the anniversary DVDs there is footage of the pencil drawn story board with her singing over it. A few years later the late great Laurie Beechman also released a more stage-like version of the song on her Alan Manken album. Good stuff.

They've posted a Making Of video on Youtube: My favourite part is Patrick Page saying: "Because, after all, it is Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz." Currently on my third time listening through the Hunchback recording and I'm still in complete awe. Downloaded the recording before leaving for work this morning, and the first track - Olim - gave me goosebumps. I'm so happy that this recording was made. Really hoping Hunchback has an after life, it'd be a shame if this show never made it to Broadway.

Been listening to Hunchback too. Gosh it's very "Wicked" in parts isn't it? Brilliant though. I'm whistling The Bells of NooooTra Dame constantly!

I downloaded some of the songs from Hunchback on the day of the digital release and have been listening to them since. It really is a beautiful soundtrack. Really like Ciara Renee's rendition of "God Help The Outcasts". It really is a shame that this probably won't ever come to London though!

My favourite song on the Hunchback OCR is Top of the World, Esmeralda is a close second.

I downloaded it but haven't listened to it yet. I have a flight tonight and I think I might catch that. Amazing Grace will also come out at the end of the month. Can't say I'm excited for this except the very final number and title song. The choral arrangement is wonderful.

I love the Hunchback cast recording. According to my iTunes, I've listened to it 12 times so far. Fave songs are Out There, Hellfire, Someday and, if that one counts, the Entr'acte.
I so wish there'll be a professional production in the UK someday (pun intended).

And Made Of Stone sounds very much like a reworking of No Good Deed to me. I watched the Disney last week because I didn't really know the story (shameful, I know!). Brave move to make the ending of the musical completely different. It's not a barrel of laughs is it? It's definitely my current obsession though, thanks for bringing my attention to it.

It's not a bad decision to make it more similar to the novel, tbh.

And shouldn't it be the other way round, as Hunchback was written before Wicked (Disney film in 1996, German musical in 1999 vs Wicked in 2003)?

Grease Live is on Spotify No release date yet for the actual CD (hope that'll still be available), but the (entire) digital version is available on amazon.co.uk for just £1.69 (sic!): www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01B8E6U3WI don't have Spotify and I usually wait for the physical CDs to be released/delivered (I'm kind of old-fashioned here), but I just downloaded this as I couldn't say no to €2.59 for the entire recording (what is the price on our German amazon.de).

Made of Stone wasn't in the film though was it? I didn't get the Wicked vibe with the film really. They obviously reworked it a lot for the musical. Maybe it's just me
