Saw this last night, and although it was put together with 24 hours rehearsal and the cast were holding scripts, I still really enjoyed it. It's a new musical to me and it crawled into my brain with enough charm that I'll keep a look out for any fully staged productions in the future. A sad premise but beautifully sung with simple accompaniment, and the cast were really strong so I imagine the original production must've been brilliant. So anyone reading this who was involved in the show, congratulations, it was great 😁
Also for anyone who hasn't been to the venue, the Gallery seating upstairs is great, loads of room and the seats are like armchairs (sort of) 😁

I wish i had known about this. Bare is one of those shows that i love the score but have never seen a production, apart from youtube.
So many great songs in there, especially Role of a Lifetime. I wonder if it was the original version, or the version they used in the most recent off broadway production. Anyone know?

It was the original, the 'pop opera'. I was there too. Some of the performers' voices have deteriorated a bit over the years, but still an overall nice experience. Jodie Steele was the standout for me, someone give her a part in the West End ASAP.

Rediscovering this show and I think now would be a great time for a revival. After the success of Heartstopper and Red White and Royal Blue, there is a an appetite for more gay love stories.
Plus I could see it getting a cult following like Heathers.

Isn't the Palladium just a bit on the large size for a chamber sized show?

Isn't the Palladium just a bit on the large size for a chamber sized show? Depends on who they cast.
