Hunch turned out to be dead right - hardly anyone left the lottery empty handed (probably around 35-40 seats in the lottery in the end) although we didn't all get seats together it was a fantastic deal. Had some dress circle seats in the end. The full house sign was out by 7pm. So... if you're looking to go and don't want to pay too much, keep an eye on weekday (even Friday!) evening performances with good availability and throw your name in that lottery drum. Conversely, someone reported only 6 tickets up for the lottery, last Saturday evening. I looked at Friday and Saturday online (had to catch the understudy Aladdin) before deciding to go on Friday, Friday was not selling well and Saturday was sold out. I'm unsurprised at the difference in tickets available given the tickets sold ahead of time according to the DMT booking site.

^Not too surprised - fewer parents going to take children on a school night, I'd guess, for a start. I'm sort of surprised Fridays don't sell better since there is no school the next day.

Just seen something on facebook offering online lottery for aladdin where you can choose up to 3 performances the following week for £25 tickets. Amongst the FAQ section it says they will no longer have a daily lottery at the theatre but will have dayseats available

Out of interest, has anyone had any success with it? Or even an email acknowledging their entry? I've tried for the last couple of weeks but haven't heard anything at all. Normally with lotteries you get an email wishing you better luck next time....

The Children in Need performance is now on YouTube. Now, I haven't seen the show live yet, but do Dean and Jade sound better in the theatre than on TV, because neither of them sound that great at all in this performance...?

I was going to ask the same thing - I thought the Children in Need performance was terrible, put me off bothering to see the show!

Mormon hasn't been on GILT ever so it's not surprising that Aladdin which is doing well isn't on there in its first year

I know it's selling well so probably why it isn't in GILT but tickets are so expensive for this, GILT would've been ideal!!

Can anybody give ideas for good offers/deals for this?? Prices similar to what GILT offer - £20/£30?

Perhaps theatre tokens then, and your recipient could put them towards tickets for Aladdin etc.

Just walked past the theatre now. I had no idea the did a Friday matinee. It must be the Christmas schedule. I went yesterday matinee, first time ever and enjoyed it alot. A stunning design, scenes like Friend Like Me and A Whole New World are incredible to watch. Trevor as Genie was incredible too. I thought Dean and Jade were good as well! The score is of course fantastic, and one of Disney's best! Really enjoyed it.

I think Trevor is wonderful and is as good if not better than the Genie on Broadway. I thought the casting was great all around. People on here have issues with Dean but I thought he was super and Jade's american accent was great. It really is the Genie's show though...
