This is my favourite sit com on the telly at the moment. I have always loved sit coms, ever since I was small when my favourite was On The Buses. My favourite character in it was Olive who wore funny glasses and who had a hilarious catchphrase: “Ooo, Arthur!” Her daughter is in The Apprentice this year. This is probably one of the reasons I love it so much.
There is also another hilarious caharacter in The Apprentice this year who wears glasses, but not proper ones. If anyone has ever been to get their eyes tested they will know that you have to wear really horrible round glasses that the optician puts the different lenses in before you are asked if the letters are clearer With... (pause)... or Without? It’s at this point you hope that you are not seen by anybody other than the optician because you look so stupid. The character in The Apprentice wears these glasses.
Is anyone else a fan of this sit com?

I have actually just watched for the first time in years. Good spot in Olive - was driving me mad! She is also reminiscent of several of my new colleagues, sadly. (Oh yes, it's going that well...!)
£400 for 3 cardboard suitcases?
Oh, and the "Can you actually get trees with fur on them?" comment has to get the thicko prize of the century, surely?

I absolutely love the Apprentice. What a caper they are having this year.Olive looks a bit like David Walliams in Little Britain. The boys are useless at the moment, but its early to tell still. Can't wait til next week!!

The Apprentice is always to great to watch especially the board room meetings when Lord Sugar pops their inflated egos.

I wish they'd show more of the actual task and less of Sugar's scripted quips.

I wish they’d stop showing Canary Wharf every time they mention the boardroom! His office is in *Brentwood* in Essex, and the boardroom is actually filmed in a TV studio anyway.

Back in the day it was a serious business programme but now it has indeed morphed into a comedy!
The casting is brilliant. I don't believe for a minute how "successful" they claim to be. One said he earned £175k a year last week!!!!! No doubt their fraudulent CV's are waiting to be exposed by Claude in the hugely entertaining "interview" episode! They clearly have no idea how utterly foolish they look. Two of them this week could not even add up - yet they allegedly run successful businesses!
This week was classic in how utterly appalling their "design" skills were. Clearly the producers had to just toss a coin for the winning team as they were both beyond dreadful.
How Claude and Karen manage to keep any composure witnessing the car crashes in front of them is beyond me. I would be in a heap of hysterics on the floor!
In their defence though they are clearly sleep deprived and are operating within huge time constraints.

They are all dreadful, greedy, silly people.
Reading it as a sitcom is about right.

It brings back memories of a candidate demonstrating how to screw on a trampoline leg against one of the most suggestive of body parts. And he was the winner in the end
Or one moment where the team was desperately negotiating for a cheap price, and the lady she'll let them have it if they promised to go away
Though it has lost some spark ever since the prize became becoming a business partner. it makes the majority of the show feel pointless when even the poorest candidate has the best business proposition

More high jinx this evening... and more injustice. It never ceases to amaze me how much sh*t can float to the top.

I love The Apprentice, it's one of those shows that never gets old. I am gutted they stopped doing the shopping channel task, that was always my favourite. Trampoline screwing was side-splittingly funny, as was watching one of the teams try and sell a wheelchair and promoting it as "great for when you get tired". There are several good characters this series, I never manage to remember anyone's names until at least half way through but measuring woman and woman who always ends up arguing with measuring woman are both brilliant

I agree they are great characters. When Olive did the measuring she reminded me of one of the Chuckle Brothers.

Just caught up with this week's. Olive seemed to come into her own a bit, even though everyone collectively accused her of being a liar when she was being honest It was funny that Bushra the non-drinker was the only one out of the lot of them to realise they'd ordered too much wine. Most of all I was disappointed that Karen didn't do a dramatic disapproving look to camera or a speech when what's his face said that nobody cares about women's football. Her forcing the woman who accidentally told everyone to thrust their cleavage at men to painfully climb down was funny.
