Nearly a week since I saw this, since when I've seen umpteen 4-star reviews. At the time I hadn't the heart to say what I thought and now if I do so, I will be hugely out of step with the vast majority - unless others here add dissenting voices.
However, as I'm sure I won't be the only member to have seen/booked for this, I'm starting a thread and waiting for someone else to be brave enough to comment on the production itself...

Didn't know about this until I read the above post, but I would rush to see Cel Spellman if I lived anywhere near. Cel Spellman!

Yes, if you think its rubbish, blaze away - just think of Parsley, he/she wouldn't have kept quiet if they thought a play was sh*te.

I didn't think it was rubbish, but I really couldn't see what all the critics and bloggers found so wonderful. I would find listening to a phone-in tedious enough - and therefore wouldn't do it - so watching one depicted on stage was even more trying. Yet apparently something really impressive has escaped me, given the unanimous 4-star ratings.
So far as names are concerned, the only one I knew was the author's, which is fine with me, but I couldn't help wondering what it would have been like to see Liev Schreiber play the lead, as he did in a US production.
