New: - The Band's Visit - Spongebob Squarepants - Escape to Margaritaville - Frozen - Mean Girls
Revival: - Once on This Island - My Fair Lady - Carousel
More will be announced I'm sure.

I'm surprised not to see one from the Roundabout Theatre Company (revival or new). Or is it still early days?

I don't think they're doing a musical in the Spring as Travesties is going to the American Airlines and a revival of Children of a Lesser God is in Studio 54. Perhaps they'll have one for next Autumn?

It does seem to be slim pickings for musicals at the moment, not too many have been announced. As it stands, The Band's Visit seems to be the one to beat for the Tonys based on reviews and word of mouth, with the knowledge of course that Mean Girls has yet to begin in any form.
It seems there is more excitement (for me anyway) in the Revivals that have been announced. I can't wait to see who they announce for My Fair Lady casting wise!

So Frozen will get nominated under default. I wanted to see the play Cursed Child. But not not sure I want to go at all. Why did not Groundhog Day come this season?

I have seen Hamilton and Fun Home both were amazing. So would NYC or London be better for new works and great revivals or. should I not go to either.

If you can go to both, go to both. No one's musical theatre (or theatre) experience is complete with one over the other.
Generally speaking, Broadway gets better new work. Though London does pull her weight every now and then and there's 2 or 3 shows that are absolutely must see's.
Re: the upcoming season, yeah...it's not looking all too amazing. The Band's Visit is a beautiful show, but far too niche. I worry about it opening in the fall and hoping to stay alive until after June.
Frozen will NOT be nominated by default. Anastasia only got two nominations (supporting actress and costumes), and by the sound of it, Anastasia is a better adaptation from animated film to stage musical. I've yet to hear any overall good statements on Frozen.

Although also be aware, Broadway always throws in some foolishness as of late, and brings in a show no one expects to do amazingly with critics and audiences and it suddenly does, so I wouldn't expect anything different this season haha.
