Oh c'mon Jan, you can't blame Kim Jong-Un for absolutely everything. Just because you didn't get a RADA Hamlet ballot place... I seem to be one of the few not in the slightest bit interested in that event even to the extent of not reading the thread here about it so I have no clue about the ballot. My take on North Korea: Years of America pursuing a diplomatic solution has resulted only in North Korea acquiring, via a nuclear power programme, nuclear weapons and the means and motivation to use them. What we really need to be worried about is that they have taken exactly the same approach with Iran. Trump's current posturing is diplomacy too, albeit of a different kind. It is a common sales/negotiating technique, you go in at the same energy level and in the same style as your opposite.

Is his constantly shoutily exclamation-markily tweeting like an irate adolescent, accusing people of things he's done himself or is doing, also a form of diplomacy or sales technique?

It is a common sales/negotiating technique, you go in at the same energy level and in the same style as your opposite. The problem is that your opposite then responds by upping the 'energy level', and you end up with an escalating situation. A bit like those Amazon pricing algorithms that adjust book prices upwards whenever their competitors do, until you end up with books listed for millions of pounds.

China has no concern about retaining stability in the area. They want the lot so fine if a bit of it laid waste by bombs of any kind. And don't think k it isn't anything to do with us. World economy will go berserk: our little local trouble with EU will pale into insignificance. Just thought I'd add a little doom to the weekend mix.
