Excuse what I know is a cringe-worthy thread title.
Following some distasteful threads earlier, and following the general state of the world that leads us to despair here is a thread for two things:
1. Coming to share/offload when the world and social media feels too much. We're generally a supportive bunch and I know I need that space sometimes.
2. Sharing good things and ways to help. Anything you find good news story, or links to ways people can help with any disasters or just in your community.
The theatre community has always done a lot of good supporting it's own and others in times of crisis though practical means and just being a tight knit group. So let's extend that feeling here. I'll follow this header with something to that end...

Lovely idea for a thread. I know it's not seasonal but I posted this on the old site and evertime I look at it it makes me smile.... It's the guilty look on his face ! memes.com/img/425587

This morning I watched this morning and they did have stories about all the tragic events but there was one nice story that made me smile where Philip schofeilds 81 year old mother (Turing 81 today) went wing walking after she was jealous Philip did it last year and she looked like she had the time of here life. I hope I have that enegery and enthusiasm when I am her age.

I don't know about you lot, but I've been left in a real state of exhaustion by recent events, and that's without being directly involved. I can't even begin to imagine what it's like to be on the ground, as it were, and my heart goes out to everyone who has shown courage, fortitude, community, and just general goodness in the face of this world we live in (and, indeed, those who have been affected and are no less if they haven't been able to be as gracious). For the weaker ones of us, this is the quote that's been getting me through the days, I hope it helps at least one person at least a little bit:

Every so often Cracked.com does a piece on good news that the media kind of missed. Here's a recent one.

Oh I properly laughed at that! Funny stories DEFINATLY count!!
I'll try and find an actual story but first I was thinking last night (beware sentiment ahead)
Just how lovely this board and community has grown to be. I know we have a few 'interesting' characters. And I know we like to bicker about shows (but that's why we're here right) but you only have to look at the 'How was your day' thread to see there's a core of community here that really cares about each other- I know I talk a LOT but I also can't wait to hear what y'all have to say and to tell you things as well. You've all indulged me in my Angels in America obsessive sharing for example! I've over the years met some lovely people here, and I keep meeting more and more lovely folk as well. And having this little theatre community here and growing across other social media (do say hello on twitter if you're on there. Anyway it's all very lovely and I'm appreciative!

I probably need to get out more ! but I really do look forward to coming on here and " hearing " what everyone is up to both theatre and non-theatre wise.
There are obviously some posters you feel a closer affinity with than others ( no names no pack drill ! ) but like life it takes all sorts.
Long may this board flourish !

Just been reading in my paper about the Prince and Princess of Wales accompanied by two survivors visit to one of the concentration camps in Poland, whilst I am largely ambivalent to the activities of the Royal family, doing something like that gives me hope that current and future generations will never forget the horrors of the relatively recent past.

William and Kate are the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Charles and Camilla are the Prince and Princess of Wales. I do agree with you though that William and Kate's visit and the images published are good for reminding people (or educating people) of those horrors so we don't forget.

And to be fair, you're just ahead of your time. When Charles and Camilla are King and Queen, William and Kate will be Prince and Princess of Wales.

Surely Camilla is not the Princess of Wales - that was Diana. Isn't she the Duchess of Cornwall? Or have they secretly bestowed that title upon her?

Camilla is technically the Princess of Wales, as she is wife to the Prince of Wales, but she doesn't use the title because of its strong association with Diana, hence Duchess of Cornwall.
