WhatsOnStage has this running until 29th September so clearly an extension built in. Saw this on Broadway, beautiful production that's worth catching.
I liked O'Hara, I didn't love her and I didn't think it was her best role. Will be good to see it over here, but the Palladium is a barn and despite being a great title I do question it's appeal. Sad reality of the West End right now!

Well I've been whistling a happy tune so I'm in a great mood today. I can't wait for this. I may even splash out on a fancy seat as a treat. I love the show, can't wait to see Kelli O'Hara and I love a big frock. Plus, 'The King & I' has got two of the most swoonworthy tunes in musical theatre history going for it - 'Shall We Dance' and 'I Have Dreamed'.
I'm sphincter clenchingly excited about it. In fact, my sphincter hasn't been so clenched since I last spied my colonic hydrotherapist in the mirror clamping on a pair of latex gloves and grappling with a 3 foot rubber hose with all the delicacy of a hod carrier.

Qdos have a minimum 3 year contract for panto at the Palladium. That's why School of Rock was moved and why it's only limited runs being booked in. Next year will be the third panto so maybe the Palladium will be available again after that for open ended runs.

I think the School of Rock move was also partly down to Show Boat closing early and the New London being a much more suitable venue for the show.

I checked for tickets last night and baulked at the prices but they've done some repricing now, £15 seats are available Row B of the Upper with a slight restriction, clear view seats starting at £29, Dress starting at £69 and back of Stalls clear view starting at £49. This is for the previews as far as I can tell, looking further forward it's back to the crazy prices!

I have no idea who the leads are in this but any thoughts of going to see it for the show or the production have been dashed by the fact that the very short run is right slap-bang in the middle of the school holidays... If advance sales are poor, and there end up being lots of empty seats in the Palladium, just off Oxford Street where Mum has taken the kids holiday shopping, they just might take them here. Especially as the show features... kids! I think I’ll pass on this one, just as I passed on Wind in the Willows this summer.

I have to come up at weekends as a lot of my people work during the week and Cornwall isn't an easy place to get to London in a day. So we are the ones paying normal high ticket costs - NOT I add prime though. Just though so many of you can come in the week, how about getting together for a weekday group 10+ with discount?

There are many of us supplementing discounts for London based theatre goers! I comfort myself with the knowledge that we can afford to buy a decent house and still get a pint for under four quid.

On a serious note, what is the midweek group rate for this? £39.50? Can we get 10+ TheatreBoard peeps together?

I think I need to make a list of all things I want to see in London and check what shows overlap, so that I can see the most shows in the shortest time. I'm glad that TKAI runs at the same time as Fun Home.

Saw the NYC production with Marin Mazzie and Daniel Dae Kim, which was fab.
Hopefully prices will come down for this, then I will grab a ticket.

My only interest is seeing this is for Ken Watanabe in the lead, but have no intention of booking tickets for this until next year (and hopefully there will be cheaper tickets on offer by then, even if they are up in the Gods)

I wanna see Kelli in anything so this will do, and I've heard the set and design is beautiful. Howevrr, I'm not prepared to pay those prices.

This is a glorious production and the opening is particularly thrilling if you are close to the stage.

They won’t be able to do that (clunky) boat- there isn’t room at the Palladium.
