These tabloids need to give poor Ariana a break. I know she is used to being followed by cameras and that being famous brings it on themselves, but they should really have respect and not be taking photos of her leaving the plane as she returned home just to get the first pictures of her since the trauma of the night before. The poor girl was visibly crying, she looks like she hasn't slept since, she must be feeling internally awful, why can't these damn reporters have some respect!

Started crying like a baby in work today when the photos were released of the first confirmed victims on the news. It's awful. So many young lives ended too soon.
Unfortunately there is no right answer to how attacks like this can be stopped in the future without either being completely impractical or sounding incredibly racist.
Been through at least 3 safety lectures from my parents today already about my upcoming London trip. "Avoid tube when possible...don't use the main exits at the theatre...be careful...etc".

I was fragile enough by the end of Rent tonight but when they spoke of a collection at the end for those families affected by injuries or worst the already leaking floodgates succumbed

It's funny that you talk about people being 'beyond contempt'. I feel the same way about the people who come out of the woodwork whenever there's a terrorist attack to revel in glee if the terrorist turns out to be Muslim. Glee? We revel in total horror when we find out it's a Muslim, because we are, once again, reminded of how brainwashed people can be. This person is formed by people around him and upbringing and convinced that Allah promised him 10 virgins waiting for him in heaven and that he's now a hero. The disconnect from reality is shocking. I've said it and I will say it again: They need to sharpen the law and teach children in every school that your identity is NOT formed by religion.

The poor families with no news of their missing relatives. At least there was some 'good' news that they found one missing girl, injured but alive.

I am wondering if ISIS gives money for people to do this and punishes when then refuse.

Olivia Campbell the latest victim confirmed to have passed away, so terribly sad. 15 years old.
Four fatalities now named, can't even begin to imagine how difficult this must be for rheir friends and families, and the friends and families of those yet to be found.

A tweet from this girl's mother showed up on my Twitter feed yesterday morning. It had been retweeted by a journalist that I follow. She was asking for information and lots of well meaning people were trying to help but couldn't really do anything other than send encouraging message ("she's probably just lost her phone", that sort of thing). It was agonising reading the mother's responses, seeing someone's pain and distress played out in public. I felt that I shouldn't be looking at this but kept swiping down hoping to read that she had been found. Eventually I gave up. And now she's gone.

Just a reminder: Isis want us to blame all Muslims. They believe that all-out war between Muslims and those of other faiths will lead to a world-wide caliphate. They do not care how many Muslims are killed in the process.

In my previous post, I mentioned a person I knew slightly was at the concert. This morning it has been revealed that Martyn Hett was killed in the atrocity. I met him twice, he was outrageously funny and a ball of energy. He was a Coronation St fan to such an extent he had a tattoo of "Deidre Barlow" on his leg! He had many friends and was loved by them all. Even though my connection with him was slight, I am deeply saddened by the news.

Oh god how heartbreaking. I didn't know him at all, but he was the guy that got Twitter to buy his mum's knitting after an unsuccessful craft fair left her feeling down, right? What a day. What a hellish couple of days.

His poor family.

Just read the latest list of named victims, which has grown from four to twelve since last I did.
The young age of some of the victims is absolutely heart-breaking, but so too is the number of parents who died while waiting for their children and the thought that the children they leave behind will not only have to learn to live with their loss but also, perhaps, with feelings of guilt that it is somehow 'their fault' their Mum or Dad died.
As the human stories emerge from the statistics, and we put names and faces and acts of kindness to those who've died, my heart grows ever heavier.

I thought this from a Young Person on twitter had some very sensible ideas in it whether you are a young person heading to a gig (or parent of one) or an old fart heading to the theatre!

And American intelligence are still blabbing details, now about how the terrorist was identified and such. I doubt that intelligence sharing is going to continue with the US in the same way whilst the White House behaves like this.....

EDITED AS THIS WAS ORIGINALLY A RESPONSE TO POSTS NOW DELETED - the deleted post linked to a youtube video from the far right extremist site Infowars' Paul Joseph Watson, a conspiracy theorist whose latest wheeze was to support Marine Le Pen. Just to point out what filth they dwell in, Alex Jones, the head of of Infowars dismissed the Manchester victims as "a bunch of liberal trendies.”
This does serve as a heads up, however, that a fringe conspiracist, widely seen as anti women, anti gay, anti whatever, can have their rants linked to on here just shows how pervasive the alt right has become. You don't come across videos like that and link to them by mistake.

I'm still feeling shaken and numb, and I haven't come close to losing anyone. I honestly don't understand where people are finding the energy to launch their rants.

You know which comment I find disrespectful, I called you out on it earlier in the deleted comment.
And I stand by what I said, you don't have to understand politics to be a good person and understand you cannot stop worship for good, hard working Muslim people, for the sake of a select few evil people.
No one is suggesting preventing Muslims from praying. That would be disgusting and I would happily march against it. What is a problem, however, is new Mosques. They are not normally regulated by the same strict controls as established ones and attract converts who are normally more prone to committing terrorism. The nutters go on about hook hand but never acknowledge that Finsbury Park Mosque banned him. The established mosques are a fine example of Islam as a honorable World faith for the most part. Unlike many members of this board, I don't go searching for your work. But can honestly sat I have never read a post you have written that is not full of anger. I can feel the hatred as you type coming through the keyboard. Please, please act on the five second rule before you post.
Peace and love fella
