I'm happy the nonsense will be over, not the show itself. I can only repeat that so many times. The upside of the closing is it was always a limited run. It's not an early closure and it's not an extension gone wrong, the cast and everyone knew, so hopefully the cast have future projects already lined up. 😊 Feels like this has been all blown out of proportion - I agree with Daniel after everything that's happened with Heathers it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Fair enough if the show was closing EARLY and Daniel was saying this, feel mad, but considering it's coming to a natural end soon anyway I don't think there's anything wrong with the original comment. Well said Rukaya ! Daniel's comment has been blown massively out of proportion. The shows west end run has been handled badly in a number of areas and left a sour taste in many peoples mouth. No one is saying its a bad show or wishing anyone out of a job or taking joy from any of the fans. As Rukaya said it is not an early closure or an extension gone wrong. Its closing on the planned closure date so therefore I agree with danieljohnson14 I will be glad when this closes.

Anyway, lots of Theatre Board users (myself included) have said before shows like Thriller, Lion King, etc... should close for good. Now Daniel says he's happy this is closing and suddenly it's super wrong and he's horrible?

I agree. If a show is closing early it’s a bit rude to say “I’m glad” but if a show is coming to the natural planned end of a moderately successful run and nobody is losing anything...well it’s fair to say “well I won’t miss it”
In fact lump me in that group, I’m glad people have enjoyed it, but lord knows I have reached Heathers saturation and irritation levels in some respects.

I'm in agreement that it's not a bad thing to say that you're okay with a show closing, it'd be the same with other shows that are closing. We all like and dislike different things.

Am I the only one who can't wait for this show to close? I enjoyed it when I saw it, some of the cast are great, but the fans are so annoying, and seeing it constantly on Twitter and Instagram is boring me so much more than any show, possibly that I've ever seen. Matched with their mistakes in pricing, promotion and everything. It's closing can't come sooner for me. How about considering to unfollow your social media friends instead of celebrating a show's closure, that actually makes people happy and brings something new to the West End instead of the same old stuff? All I see in the board lately is negativity but this has gone a little too far... There are enough theatres in the West End to cater to everyone's tastes. Nobody is going to like everything in every theatre. There is room for everything! (The Take That fangirls are a whole other breed, believe me... when it's The Band Gala Night at The Haymarket and Take That make an appearance... well... The Heathers fans will look tame by comparison!)

Daniel, you had already made a post to this effect, did you really need to make another one? As someone who loves this show, it’s comments and attitudes like this that put me off posting anything in here because of feeling like I’m going to be judged for enjoying the show or that it’s just go to set people off again listing the reasons they don’t like it. I don’t disagree that some mistakes have been made, but other productions have made similar mistakes ie. with regards to pricing and yet have not been vilified in the way you’re trying to do with Heathers. (And whilst initially the pricing may have seemed like a mistake, it really isn’t doing badly right now) You don’t like the show and can’t wait for it to close? Great, how about you just let it get on with its final few weeks and then it will be out of your hair, but you don’t need to keep posting about how much it annoys you. Firstly, please don't feel put off posting here, different opinions are ok and I'm glad you love the show, as it seems many do. I get I'm in the minority and again, that is ok. With regards to mistakes, yes, other shows make mistakes, but this, in it's short time, has been one mistake after the other it feels like, but that's only because it is a limited run. I never said I didn't like the show. It's a great show, with some great performances, particularly Jodie Steele and Jamie Muscato. I wouldn't want, in any instance, for anyone to feel my opinion is an attack on you as a person or as a fan, and I get that social media wise, it's not every fan that has been annoying or, quite frankly, insane (though some of them are out there). I completely resepect your post and opinion, and hope you keep posting because your posts are always nice to read, including this one even if it is a critique of what I initially wrote. What are these “mistakes” people are referring to?

I don't follow any of the Heathers cast on social media, so all that fuss has pretty much passed me by. And while I think it's always a bit questionable to say "I can't wait for something to close" (which involves many people losing their jobs), I can understand the sentiment here. There is something annoying about intense fan hype for something that's just not THAT good. Ask me how I feel about the on-going hype here for the mediocre Tanz der Vampire, which has been refusing to go away for something like 20 years, so Daniel is getting off lightly with the limited Heathers run

I still haven't seen this, is it worth scheduling a trip before it closes so when people reminisce less than favourably about crazy fan behaviour during the show I'll know what they're talking about? And of course also to see the show

I actually didn't think that the fans were particularly crazy during this show to be honest, at least no worse than many shows I've seen in London's glitzy West End (and indeed some shows where you would expect the audience to be "better behaved"). Granted they scream and whoop and cheer after each song and they laugh loudly at every line but it's not really that distracting. I didn't stage door so can't say what they were like there but to be honest, they just seemed like normal groups of teenage(ish) girls so how I would expect groups like that to behave.
As for the show, it's entertaining enough. It's certainly no worse than 'Wicked', 'Hamilton', 'Dreamgirls' (all three with audiences I found much worse than at 'Heathers') and 'Tina' for example.

Overrated as hell. More thoughts later, but those Heathers are horrible, they shout, not sing, especially Yellow Heather. The Yellow Heather, Sophie Isaacs, has just won the West End Wilma "Rising Star" award.

Well, personally, I'd like it to run forever! I'm going for the 10th time tonight (3 times were at The Other Palace), then 5 more times before the end of the run, I also saw it a few years ago in New York. As for the audiences, I'm always struck by how much better behaved they are generally, than audiences at all the other shows I've seen (and I do go to the theatre a lot)

Her song is a shouty song; she didn’t write it! While everyone has been unwell they may have been helping the cast via volume. The whole show thrives on females belting their faces off. It is churlish to hold it against any of the cast.

I only saw it once at The Other Palace and the audience really put me off trying to see it again. I was overall underwhelmed by it, however thought the cast were very talented. I usually go twice to a show if I have ever had any particular interest towards it and I'd been curious about this for some time, but it truly was a nightmare. The fangirls and boys were screaming like I've never heard at a theatre. It's definitely a cult show, because the enthusiasts seem to drive everyone else away.

, I would keep hold of Sophie Isaacs. Her song is a shouty song Haha, now I come to think of it, I HAVE seen people obviously startled on at least three occasions, when Sophie Isaacs gets to the "shouty" part of Lifeboat (her solo) It starts off gently, then gets very loud at "Everyone's pushing, everyone's shoving" It's written like that, but maybe she IS extra loud!

Does anyone know when the uk cast recording is dropping? Feels like ages since they announced it.
Also just to add the audiences for this are a MILLION times more respectful than the audiences for Mamma Mia (or most jukebox musicals actually)and I’ve seen both many times (Mamma Mia mainly cause I have a friend in the cast)

Incidentally, I misquoted the lyrics, I realised as soon as I hit "reply" It's actually "Everyone's fighting" not "shoving!" I was listening to another song at the time and got distracted! Just in case you're planning to go to this Singalong tonight! Incidentally, there are songsheets with instructions telling the audience when to join in. I wonder how well it will work (I'm NOT going!)

Ooooh it's the sing along tonight? Shame. 😂 I'm just kidding, it's a real shame Carrie misses what is sure to be a night full of the fans and people who love the show, and to be off for a fair few performances. She can't be well at all.
