I think you may have misunderstood my post? I paid £95 for a ticket which should have been £75 so they’re refunding me the £20 difference. I still have a ticket. Got it, thanks. Yes, definitely read the other interpretation. Good to see the mispricing working in your favour for a change.

Saw this last night and it really did live up to the hype! Really don’t know exactly what I was expecting as I went in blind- but oh my life this show was amazing, and throughly deserving of a transfer.
CHF was 100x times better than what I thought she’d be, Jamie Muscato was amazing as JD- this whole cast doesn’t have a weak link IMO. Also Rebecca Lock and Sophie Issacs were personal highlights.
I thought the set was amazing. It made use of everything in the extremely limited confinement’s of the stage.
The sound was perfect could here everything- just a shame as A25 isn’t exactly restricted- it’s just really side on, and considering this show is in a thrust (?) layout, I thought that some scenes could’ve been acted all around the stage as oppose to everything happening forward facing. As I was mostly looking at the side of people’s head, which was a shame, but surprisingly, didn’t retract from my enjoyment.
In regards to the transfer; I did speak to Andy Fickman, the director, at the interval. He said that they were hoping to add tracking to the set for the transfer and that they had to swap a few things around in act two; I’d be interested to see what they change or add!
I have tickets to the first night on the West End- but I think I may be on holiday on that date- but I’ definitely going to catch this when it’s in town!
Easy 4* from me- hoping it’ll be 5* when I see it in town.

I was also surprised at how much I enjoyed this show. Not sure what I was expecting, but it really was one of the best nights I've had in the theatre in the last few months.
A couple of minor niggles. Obviously they need to fill out the cast (particularly with the adults) as some of the double casting was momentarily confusing.
Although I thought Jodie Steele was terrific, I didn't understand why they'd cast someone who, appears at least, to be quite a few years older than the rest of the 'teenagers' in the cast. She did appear to be closer to Rebecca Lock's age than the other Heathers. I'm not familiar with the film so I don't know if that was a deliberate casting choice, but if not, it was a bit of a head scratcher.
The music does sound at times like a carbon copy of Legally Blonde ( same writers I know) but that didn't bother me because I loved the Legally Blonde score.
I was a little trepidatious when I heard about the screaming teen audience, but there was nothing like that during the performance we saw at all. Just uproarious cheering and applause after the musical numbers which in my opinion was well deserved.
I'm now tempted to book a see it again at The Theatre Royal Haymarket, though do wonder if it'll be so good in a less intimate space. Anyway, I thought it was fabulous. Smart, funny and even rather poignant at times. I hope the buzz continues when the show moves to its new home in Sept.

So finally made it along to this.
Off to a bad start when security told me I couldn't bring my water bottle into the buildinh. In the middle of a heatwave. I wasn't aware the reason we had brought in bag checks was to take you're water away but given the bar prices at the other palace there was no chance of me buying s drink in there.
The show. It's 3.5 stars, some fantastic stuff but certainly some issues. Songs are pretty much all great (I did miss Blue, I know why they needed a more empowered Veronica for modern audiences but I don't think it stood up musically) and very well cast. Carrie Hope Fletcher makes a perfect Veronica, her look and style fit perfectly. The two stand outside for me were Jamie Muscato (you can completely understand how Veronica sticks by him, his charm is overwhelming) and Jenny O'Leary who took a more forgettable number and really gave it some. Great all female band and I liked the set and lighting design toom
I think the main problem is it is too late, rushed over here to not allow the stage version of Mean Girls to make it too old hat. The 80s was a long time ago so so many references fell flat, and some bits felt a bit too unkind in our modern times. I felt sometimes it couldn't decide what it was doing toneally. Was it trying to take itself seriously or was it a loving send up like how Legally Blonde ended up over here? Perhaps the audience didn't help as they were so in love with every cast member and vocal riff that you felt you weren't enjoying it enough to be in there. Audience also clapped along a fair bit in Act 2 like it was a panto...
Soubd-wise The Other Palace is a pig due to there being nowhere decent to rig your main speakers, which I feel affected the clarity a bit, and no amount of pulling the mics down to their noses was gonna help. I thought we'd given up on the "beige catapillar on your forhead" look and gone with either hidden when possible or if not just stick it at the corner of their mouths like other rock musicals.
But yeah it's a decent show with a stellar cast, a shame it wasn't here five years ago.

He had acquired a box full of water bottles. Apparently if it had been sealed it would have been fine.

Struggled to hear words some times, a lot in group numbers, and also noticeably from T'Shan, not sure if that was acoustics where I was sat, mic levels or vocal register, or a mix of all three. . Not just you. We sat centre Row g and struggled to make out T’Shan in her big number. Shame. The tune was catchy would’ve liked to have heard the lyrics clearer as it’s a new song.

How are ticket sales for the Haymarket run going? It's not the runaway sellout they were presumably hoping for, good availability across all price brackets and all dates. I presume some deals will appear in the near future.

There was one duet between Jamie Muscato and Carrie Hope Fletcher that made me think that they'd make a fabulous Sweeney Todd and Mrs Lovett in about ten years time or so (definitely echoes of those characters came to mind in that particular song, just can't remember what it was called, a dark duet anyway).

Finally got the chance to see this last week, so glad I went through the dates and managed to get a cheap ticket for it, my only wish now is that I'd also bought myself another when I had the chance as I really enjoyed it. I've never seen the film before and I'll admit I didn't really know much about the show before going in but that's the way I tend to prefer it. Act 2 felt like it could still do with a bit of tightening up, parts felt rushed and it just didn't match act 1's standard for me but it was a great show nonetheless. Jodie Steele, Sophie Isaacs and Jamie Muscato were the standout performers for me, I also loved the energy that Lauren Drew brought to the ensemble. I must admit I was expecting a far worse audience behaviour wise than I actually had, yes there was a lot of clapping and cheering but it was all at acceptable points (ie: after a song had finished) and deadly silent whilst the performance itself was happening. Definitely going to try and catch it once again (maybe a few times) when it gets to Haymarket, still yet to book but I may hold out for offers seeing as it isn't selling out currently

Quoting latefortheoverture although I have sent a message earlier this week, no response so ... I have a single spare ticket for the last performance at The Other Palace, Saturday 4 August 2018 at 19.30; I've purchased Row B seats 5 & 6 for 37.50 each, selling one of those. I'll return to the box office by 5.30 today if there isn't any takers for the single ticket - I'm not near a computer next week so want to get it either gone or returned today. Tickets are downloads so I can forward the email but it is just the one ticket. Emphasis on the one ticket ....

Just saw on facebook that they’ve added another new song, for Veronica this time, towards the end of Act II. They’ve been rehearsing it over the last few days and it was added into the show as of yesterday.

Oh I meant to say. After My Dead Gay Son and at the start of his scene with Veronica, Jamie Muscato corpsed. Is that like a scripted thing or what? I just thought it seemed odd the amount of times he must of seen and been a part of that scene/song that it seemed to have tickled him so much?
