I cannot find if I have asked this or not! But what are the best-reviewed shows of last season and this season for Broadway and West End by the mainstream press?

I tend to think British critics talk a load of nonsense and give 5* to most things West End and save their bad reviews to sh*t on fringe theatre, so I'll just stick to the Broadway stuff.
According to the critics scores on Show-Score.com, the best Broadway shows from the last two seasons still running on Broadway are:

Hello, Dolly! - 85
Indecent - 84
The Little Foxes - 84
Oslo - 84
Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 - 81

What shows should I see? Seen Hamilton Fun Home, Color Purple all of which I enjoyed immensely. Thought She Loves Me, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables were badly written and not very good. I thought Book of Mormon well written but very cliche. And thought everything about Curious Dog but the book was good. Really hated Legally Blonde and Wicked but Mary Poppins was excellent. Also enjoyed Billy Elliot, South Pacific. So what should I see?

I tend to think British critics talk a load of nonsense and give 5* to most things West End I SO agree on this! British here are such pushovers. Luckily, in the West End I think that audience get to decide what's a hit and what isn't. On Broadway, the press has the tendency to seal the fate of shows with their reviews. |
