This is a joke this is happening, right?
Kerry Ellis selling out arenas? She struggled to sell out the Arts Theatre for Murder Ballad and there were rows of empty seats at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley for Wonderland, however she is a lovely person in real life, so a shame.
Now if it was Nicole Scherzinger.............

First day of rehearsals today.
Surprised this is still going ahead.
Had forgotten it was happening and would have continued to do so if Kerry hadn't have Tweeted they are starting today.
The official twitter show page only has 434 followers for goodness sake!

If this was the Houston and Levitt musical and starred Megan Hilty and Katharine McPhee, maybe it'd stand a chance at Wembley, but the "seen better days" Ellis version. Hmm... If they aren't going to bother selling 90% of the arena, why not just do it in a theatre? I'm sure ALW could lend them use of the St. James Studio for a couple of weeks, because you know, that's realistically what they could sell

The entire front row and from what I can tell front block is still available for Sheffield! Wonder if they've actually sold any tickets?

I've just been looking at the interactive maps and there seems no tickets sold at all. Maybe just one for a super fan here and there. Only seats "unavailable" are a full row or block here and there which must be the allocation of other agencies. I could easily get front row seats for the whole extended family now for Newcastle. At almost seventy quid no wonder! People will not pay that and why four nights in a half open arena rather than one or two nights with the whole arena open?!
If Take That just do two nights here then how can this do four?! Crazy.

They would of had a better shot when Kerry was at the height of her popularity, shen she was selling out her own UK Tours in theatres, Royal Albert Hall, had a Top 20 Album back when the charts were physical sales and not just downloads so it meant more back then. Back then, they would of shifted a few more tickets off her back. But now, this is likely to become a fast and furious flop sadly.

Surely, someone with some brain is going to pull this before they lose their shirts on it?

This is a catastrophic disaster, any idiot could tell you that to do an arena version of a musical you need SOMETHING to sell it to Joe Public, even if that something is just a f**k load of marketing. But nothing has happened, and as a result they're going to be performing to three people each night, all of whom would rather Kerry was singing Defying Gravity.
To try and sell out an arena without at least two of: A celebrity in the cast It being an iconic show with a large fanbase A BBC One talent show to cast a lead role that it turns out isn't actually a lead role but rather a featured ensemble part
is just foolish.

A quick twitter stalk and they've just finished week one of rehearsals, it looks a pretty big cast!
Not sure if it's concerning or not but the official twitter account hasn't tweeted anything since the end of July! How are they marketing this? It's coming to Cardiff and apart from a couple of tweets from the venue, I've not heard any radio or seen any billboards/posters!

And we literally don't know anything about the show itself either, other than the story it's based on. But have they released any music, design concept etc?
Also, I think of the few seats that have been sold, a large portion is still because of Kerry Ellis.

I just can't click on this thread. Everytime I do, I get Belinda Carlisle's Heaven is a Place on Earth stuck in my brain for hours.

I've given up trying to get their website to work.
Only half of the home page graphic shows up on my phone and the drop down menu isn't working. If I was trying to buy tickets I would have given up by now.

Actually witnessed some marketing activity for this today (shock horror)...a rather elderly bloke almost forcing leaflets onto people up Birmingham New Street. Perhaps if he was giving away tickets rather than flyers, he might've gotten some interest!

The marketing strategy for this really does get more bizarre by the minute.
